  1. Between being inactive for awhile and posting from a phone that was responding slow I managed to quote myself. Thanks RPM for the photo. I just installed mine like yours and the it just looks like something is missing. The spring rides against the clip that retains the cable to mounting bracket. do you think this is correct or am I missing a piece?
  2. My car was a basket case when I bought it. Looked at many photos online of the front parking brake cable and seen the spring cup installed before and after the spring. Can somebody with an assembly manual or knowledge confirm the order of the pieces that install at the end of the front cable? Most often I saw the spring cup installed just before the equalizer. This leaves the other end of the spring resting on the clip that holds it to the mounting bracket on the frame, at least with what parts I have, could be missing something. It just didn't look right to me. Thanks for any insight guys....Jeff
  3. I need a few small tilt column parts if anybody has them available to purchase. I need the 3 small screws that hold the uppermost tin in place and also the little cover / side plate that goes in the turn signal hole in the upper tin. Let me now if you have any to purchase and how much. Thanks.....
  4. I need the seat belts and the the ebrake pieces with the spring cup and equalizer piece. How much to 42518 ky
  5. That'd be great Raven. I was measuring tonight, mine varies from 5/16 to almost 7/16 from the front face shrinking so much. It looks like the switches have a sorta press / snug fit. I'm wondering if the switch would cover a wider than designed groove and hide the flaw? It'd be difficult for me to repair this area since it has internal grooves inside the main groove, I'm guessing to catch the switch and prevent it from coming back out. Any other advice on rimblow restorations welcome too, especially with the woodgraining techniques.
  6. I'm trying my hand at restoring a trashed out 69 rimblow wheel. The 10 or so cracks were easy enough to fix with Jb weld. The part I need help with is the groove the rimblow switch goes in is not uniform. Mainly in a couple places it looks pulled or shrunk to narrow that groove. Does anybody know the proper width the groove? One of the mustang stores sells the switch with a special tool to correct this issue but I hate to buy the switch until I know if this wheel will turn out nice enough for the car, not sure if I can get the woodgrain presentable. Anyway if anybody knows the width I'd sure appreciate the knowledge.
  7. Need a complete 69 fixed steering column, including lower shaft and rag joint. No rust pitted lower tube. Leoatbpd@aol.com
  8. Still have the columns? I'm needing a complete 69 with lower shaft and rag joint.
  9. Are the columns complete or stripped? Or somewhere between?
  10. I'm looking for the color that goes with the teak bezel. I found a spray can labeled "warm caramel" that's close but I don't have an old one to compare to. Thinking about ordering a new bezel. Wondering if the reproductions have any issues? Considering the decal and can of paint will be $30 and the new bezels are around $50, at least the chrome would likely be nice. Thanks for the replays....
  11. Trying to figure out what color the painted area just below and to the sides of the radio. My bezel (not original to my car) had burl wood, and is too dark, must've come from a cougar. I will be installing a teak decal. Speaking of, where is a good place to buy the decal that matches original teak? Edit: picture is a correct teak bezel. I need the color of the one in the picture.
  12. I'm missing a couple hardware clips. I need 1 that mounts the passenger side lower clock panel. I need 1 clip that mounts the lower radio / heater bezel. Finally 1 of the plastic main wiring harness clips that mount the main harness to the lower dash. Here's a short list of some parts I've been trying to buy: Headlight switch bezel Ignition bezel Turn signal lever Drivers door LH fender RH fender Dash clip, passenger side that mounts lower clock panel (need 1) Dash clip, mounts the lower radio / heater bezel (need 1) Main wiring harness to lower dash plastic clip Turn signal wire harness cover ( under column w/tilt) 70-up timing cover 351W front sump oil pump Pm or email leoatbpd@aol.com if you have any of this available in good condition.
  13. Are you parting out the dash piece for piece? I need some clips and bezels?
  14. Are you parting out the dash piece for piece? I need some clips and bezels?
  15. I'm missing a couple clips from my dash that I don't see being reproduced. I have 2 of these clips that I believe mount the passenger side clock panel. Am I correct that I need 3? I only have 2 and during disassembly a clip was missing on the lower right side that mounts the clock panel. I am assuming another one of these clips is missing.
  16. After some thought, I remember changing a t switch in the 80's in my 68 and having left over wires. I just went and looked at it. Guess what, it has a yellow w/black and a tan wire left over on it also. I don't remember for certain but I think it's a standard brand switch. The 68 isn't a tilt away though. Just thinking midlife is right on with it being an aftermarket switch. My 69 tilt doesn't have any left over wires. I'm guessing yours has been changed before.
  17. Ok I see. I have everything out, but my column isn't disassembled. That's on my winter list to do When i get the lower dash restored, I'll have work space. Maybe midlife will chime in. He's good at harnesses.
  18. Brian, your pad looks like my old one without the lip. Yours is an original I bet. I'm thinking I'll just trim my new one off to the match the original look.
  19. The red arrow is area of my concern. I don't have a trim piece yet but I believe the yellow arrow is for trim, no issues with that. Does the red arrow lip have in bearing on the trim? Prevent it from going on on or necessary to install the trim?
  20. Added a picture. Look at the bottom left side. It and two other sides have this lip on it and the top or bottom, depending which way you put it on does not have the lip. It looks out of place and the one that was on it, didn't have the lip. The tabs for mounting on the bottom are all there and good shape. I guess it's just a cosmetic thing, but curious if was correct or not.
  21. I have my harnesses out. Mine also has tilt away. I'm not seeing a yellow / black or brown in my turn signal harness. Any chance they came from somewhere else?
  22. Can't believe a clutch pedal pad has me stumped. I have a new pedal pad and it came with a lip (on the lower outer edge) on 3 sides of it. It looks like it is meant to be there, doesn't look like a mold line. What was left of the old didn't have those lips. Are they meant to be trimmed off or installed as is? If the lips stay on, does it turn a certain way. I'll be using weather stripping adhesive in it so I want to get it right the first time.
