Bob & Sue 110 Report post Posted July 30, 2017 I'm going to replace mine also the PO routed them in a way that they hang down in a U-shape with only about 4" of clearance to the ground. That exploded view shows that there routed wrong.
1969_Mach1 333 Report post Posted July 30, 2017 Aftermarket power steering hoses do not fit nearly as well as Ford original hoses. Especially the hoses from the control valve to the hydraulic cylinder. If you can get Ford or something made with Ford tooling that would be a better choice than generic aftermarket. Also, make certain you have the correct support bracket and rubber insulator that supports the hoses from the pump to the control valve. This prevents those hoses from sagging down too low. It mounts to the frame near where the drivers side lower control arm attaches to the frame. There are a few different types of support bracket depending on the motor in the car. TexasEd 188 Report post Posted August 7, 2017 Anyone have tips on how to install the hoses with the flange sides so they go on properly and don't leak?
