Dash Topper/Cap

With the exception of the dang speaker, my original dash is in pretty good condition. I was meticulous in taking care of it over the years but could not stop the speaker area from cracking out. A few years ago I put a dash topper/cap on the dash of my 86 F150, which also had the speaker area cracked out. I was  very impressed in how it came out and it still looks good today. You cannot tell it has been capped. I'm likely not going to go that route, but was wondering if anyone here has done that to their 69 dash and can comment on the matter?

had several of them on 69 and 70 mustangs . they fit decent and will fool many people unless they touch them.

I haven't used a dash topper in a long time.  But I did put one on in high school and hey I loved it... cheap and easy... you certainly can tell by the feel but you can often see the seams on the bottom where the cap doesn't quite go as deep as the original pad.

It is a plastic or ABS slip over cover and they do look quite good ,and much cheaper than a new padded dash .I put one on a 70 Mach1 some time ago and i would use one again .
