1969_Mach1 333 Report post Posted December 29, 2016 If you have new weatherstrip installed it may have to stay adjusted like that until the weatherstrip collapses a little. Then readjust it again.

Mach1 Driver 560 Report post Posted December 29, 2016 I've wondered how to adjust it too- it looks like it needs a twist down on the passenger side rear. I think Ridge Runner talked about bending it over a 2x4 when the middle was out of wack. Has anyone ever had to twist one?
Raven R code 281 Report post Posted December 30, 2016 I got another original 69 lid so I didn't have to drill my original for the spoiler. It required a LOT of 2x4 attitude adjusting to make it work.
Ridge Runner 1,113 Report post Posted December 30, 2016 Do not bend it ,it is probably where the hinge goes into the trunk lid .There is enough adjustment there to bring the rear or the front down .Loosen the bolt through the trunk lid in the rear and very lightly loosen the front one ,pull down on the back of the trunk lid while it is up and you will see it move .If the rear bolt will not do it ,reverse it and loosen the front one and lift up on the front of the lid .Try the back bolt first . 1 SWPruett reacted to this

Ridge Runner 1,113 Report post Posted December 30, 2016 This is a fiberglass trunk lid but it adjusts the same . Loosen the rear bolt so it is loose enough to move the trunk lid up or down ,very lightly loosen the front bolt so it doesnt keep the back of the lid from moving . push down on the lid at the rear and tighten the bolt and close the lid it should have lowered the rear of the trunk lid . These pics may be a bit easier to see they are my other 69. Like i said if the back bolt will not do it go to the front bolt and loosen and lift up on the lid ,that will throw the rear of the lid down ,it may raise the whole side ,if it does lower the main body of the hinge at the wheel tub . barnett468 418 Report post Posted December 31, 2016 you may also have to put a flat washer between the hinge and deck lid on one of the bolts to get it to line up because who knows what has happened to the lid or body or hinges over the last 40 years . the deck lids are nearly impossible to twist by hand . if it needs twisting you may not easily be able to fix it.
