mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted April 13, 2017 It's just about ready for the underside. Going to block the hood and put it in black Epoxy tomorrow to high light it. We will probably end up making a fiberglass mold because it weighs a ton LOL. I wouldn't mind some feedback on the hood.
RogerC 136 Report post Posted April 14, 2017 Quote I wouldn't mind some feedback on the hood. I like the overall shape of the scoop but I don't think the center blends well with the lines up the center of the hood.

I was thinking the same thing. I think it just needs a small center crown like a 67-68.
1969Fstback 58 Report post Posted April 14, 2017 I agree with RogerC. But, for me, it would look better to removed the center factory point. Smooth it out. The profile angle of the factor raised area is different and wider then the scoop. Yeah easier said then done, but the scoop itself looks great. stangnet33 88 Report post Posted April 14, 2017 Yes I'm not sold on the middle of the scoop either. The hood having the raised part coming to a point and the scoop being flat just looks kinda weird. But over all it looks nice. No insult intended, the overall project is looking fantastic !
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted April 14, 2017 The 2017 hood scoop actually has a slight crown in it, it will show up more when we do the black Epoxy.
1969Fstback 58 Report post Posted April 15, 2017 How far you thinking of bringing the crown out? I agree I thing that old fix the side profile angle.
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted April 15, 2017 I'm thinking of taking out the original 69 wide crown in the front, then just put a smaller one in its place. Opinions on that ?
1969Fstback 58 Report post Posted April 15, 2017 To me that would be perfect. I'd do that and leave the center of the scoop the same. My opinion, you'd not need to crown the middle out if the factory crown was removed. But that's me. Anyone real good at photoshop?
1969Fstback 58 Report post Posted April 15, 2017 A small crown half the length of the others may look good.
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted April 15, 2017 Yes, some one to photoshop it would be great. I think I could take a cut wheel and cut the crown out, then bond a new piece of metal from the underside. This would now become a plug for sure. 1969Fstback 58 Report post Posted April 20, 2017 Looks much better without the crown. If it was me, I'd leave it as is and not add to the center part of the scoop.
RogerC 136 Report post Posted April 20, 2017 Looks good
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted April 20, 2017 The crown is so slight now, that it could easily be blocked out with a person didn't want it.

Midlife 814 Report post Posted April 28, 2017 Ummmm...is this just a test fitting of the window molding clips, or the final installation? I can't see the latter because the car is only in primer....
