Mike65 476 Report post Posted February 21, 2015 I need some opinions from everyone here please, I am getting to the point where I will probably getting the 69 Coupe painted sometime latter this year I have decided on yellow, now the question is which shade of yellow. I want bright yellow, so here are the ones I have decided on which I picked from paintref.com. canary/chrome yellow, http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?type=sample&ditzler=4736&syear=1993&smanuf=Ford&smodel=Mustang&name=1993_00005_01&scomm= zinc yellow, http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?type=sample&ditzler=5586&syear=2001&smanuf=Ford&smodel=Mustang&sname=Zinc bright/grabber yellow, http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?type=sample&ditzler=2052&syear=1969&smanuf=Ford&smodel=Mustang&sname=Bright screaming yellow, http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?type=sample&ditzler=6226&syear=2006&smanuf=Ford&smodel=Mustang&sname=Screaming triple yellow, http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?type=sample&ditzler=937696&syear=2015&smanuf=Ford&smodel=Mustang&sname=Triple After it is painted I am going to paint the tail light panel black & the outer section of the head light bucket black like the 69 boss 302 black http://www.graphic-express.com/ford-motor-co/mustang-restoration-1964-78/1969-mustang-boss-302-hood-paint-stencil.html & a stripe on the hood like the 70 Mach-1 http://www.graphic-express.com/ford-motor-co/mustang-restoration-1964-78/1970-mustang-mach-1-dearborn-hood-paint-stencil-choose-4-styles.html & 69 GT lower side stripes also in black. http://www.graphic-express.com/ford-motor-co/mustang-restoration-1964-78/1969-mustang-gt-lower-stripe-kit-standard.html The front & rear spoilers will be black as will the interior & the vinyl top which it had originally. It would take a huge amount of time & filler to make the roof staright plus it has the holes in the body for the vinyl top trim. If you were painting my Mustang yellow, which shade would you choose from the 5 I listed?. BTW my 69 Coupe was originally meadowlark yellow, http://www.svs.com/zim/mustang/images/69-W.jpg Yuk, not bright enough. 1 SamellaEr reacted to this

MBerger 10 Report post Posted February 21, 2015 My vote is Grabber Yellow as well. The others are too bright and just won't look right.

prayers1 153 Report post Posted March 7, 2015 Mike, I have been watching your threads for a while and appreciate your hard work, glad to see your close to paint. I would pick screaming yellow, because it has a more deeper yellow than most. Can't wait to see it painted!
