69RavenConv 288 Report post Posted August 12, 2009 Finally, this old fart got an avatar. One of my other hobbies is woodworking and I made a pony out of maple, cherry, and walnut.!
Pakrat 1,043 Report post Posted August 12, 2009 How about a bigger pic in the thread so we can view your handywork? At the avatar size I just thought it was a fender badge at first.
grendi 16 Report post Posted August 12, 2009 i hope the picture is mirrored, if not.... ;-)
69RavenConv 288 Report post Posted August 13, 2009 LOL! You're right, my pony's running in the wrong direction!:scared:
Pakrat 1,043 Report post Posted August 13, 2009 Not for the right fender it isn't.:whistling:
grendi 16 Report post Posted August 13, 2009 it's also correct for the left door panel
coz 108 Report post Posted August 14, 2009 Raven, How easy was it to make and would consider doing another? I'd pay to have one done - maybe two.... One the "correct" size to replace my fender badge keychain and another that would be 8"x11" or thereabouts.... Something to hang on the Mustang wall of honor. d.reese 13 Report post Posted August 14, 2009 Yea, I could use the price and duration, probably keep you covered up with orders.
stangme 105 Report post Posted August 15, 2009 Dude that is nice work, I never had the patience for doing woodwork that nice. My hat (if I wore one) is off to you.
69RavenConv 288 Report post Posted August 16, 2009 Stangme, thanks for the kind words! Reese, Coz, I'll see what I can do. Pak, I'll post a bigger JPG when I get on my "good" computer!
Pakrat 1,043 Report post Posted August 17, 2009 Cool, I'd love to get a closer look at the detail work.
69RavenConv 288 Report post Posted August 26, 2009 Here's a more detailed shot. The JPEG is bigger than life-size (it's really the size of a 1968 fender badge). Not perfect, but not bad for an amateur knock off, I think.
Pakrat 1,043 Report post Posted August 26, 2009 I can't believe you got that much detail into something so small, looks great!
70mstang 11 Report post Posted August 27, 2009 That is nice, really like the detail.. I'm no good at wood work. I'll have to stick to twisting bolts =)
69RavenConv 288 Report post Posted August 27, 2009 Thanks for the kind words guys but I'm just a hobbiest. There's guys out there that could put the eyelashes on that wooden pony. Now if I can just figure out how to paint my real Mustang nice...
Pakrat 1,043 Report post Posted August 27, 2009 Forget the paint, cover it in woodgrain contact paper and tell everyone you whittled the body!
