Angel replied to 69_Mustang's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
Those hemi heads are nice! I didn't see any info about the valve covers. -
Not a bad place to start. Welcome!

What wheels are you running on your 'Stang?
Angel replied to 69_Mustang's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
Ive got centerline "sun ray" wheels. 17x7 and 18x9.5. Im not too crazy about them. I bought them back in high school because I wanted something different. I kinda regret that choice now haha. -

It's odd transitioning from new cars to old cars huh. Ive been following some of your threads. While most things between old and new cars are relative, they are two different animals. You're used to modern tech and now you're playing with old school stuff. Its almost like culture shock. I went through something similar when I bought a newer mustang. I went from tuning an engine with a screw driver and a timing gun to using a handheld tuner. Ask someone with a classic car what kind of intake they have and they'll say something about the manifold. Ask someone with a new car what kind of intake they have and they'll most likely say cold or ram air intake. It took me a while to get used to things too. As for the heads, those are the only 4 valve heads I know of. -
Yes you can use headers. However, depending on brand and design, they might have to be modified. I bought this expecting to have to buy and modify some new headers anyway.

$1200 is the lowest I'll go on this. I will not ship. I have turned down many offers for $1000. I think $1200 is a great price for this considering it is brand new in its original packaging. I am also including a lower control arm camber kit from open tracker racing worth $65. PM me if interested.

Exhaust looks good. Will the side exhaust interfere with subframe connectors? -
Reasonable offers are welcome.

I'm following your progress on vmf. Nice work. -
I still have this in my room if anyone is interested...

Nice work man!

It won't cause problems. My coupe is lowered and I have 18s in the rear. The lower the car is and the larger the wheel, the less this is likely to interfere with anything. I cut off that tab a long time ago only to realize it wasn't necessary.
-
No no no! You're doing it all wrong! Just kidding obviously. No tips from me but I applaud you for tackling such a difficult task. Nice work so far.

I know its been a while but I love this build. I will definitely reference this during my build. About the hood issue, had the idle air control valve not been located on top of the plenum, would the stock hood have worked? You said the valve was the issue.

Whoa. I have never seen those. I have replaced the lights many times and I even have the car disassembled right now, not once have I seen those. Where do they go? Behind the bucket?
-
Are you talking about the headlight bucket? Or the actual adjusters(long screw that goes into square plastic clip)? If you need the adjusters, you can buy them at Autozone for cheap.

Congratulations man. Car looks sooo sick! I like how you flared the rear. Is that covered in your other thread? I also like how you can't tell that the front fenders are flared as well. Anvil did a great job on those fenders. Also, those recaros, let's hear more about them. Are those buttons on them? Pak, I think the mirrors you speak of are from a project car in Australia. I remember them. Either australia or in Europe. He's the guy that made the carbon fiber hood scoop as well. I haven't seen a post from him in a while.

That's a mustang 2 rack in the craigslist ad. It won't work with a stock suspension.

New, never used. I bought the front brackets a while back. I never got around to installing them and now that Im going with the mustang 2 suspension, they wont work with the M2 dropped spindles. So now I need his brackets but for a M2 spindle. My loss is your gain. Cobra-FT is the part number and everything is included, brackets, nuts, bolts, etc. I still have it in the packaging as received from mustang Steve. I paid $230 plus $10 shipping. I'll let them go for $200 shipped O.B.O.
