  3. Redid the top end of the engine gaskets etc... some pics of the clean up and initial paint job... some tedious work but it'll be worth i hope...
  4. Interior pics and lights wired... now on to the engine and trans...:sweatdrop:
  5. Yeah its coming along, I have been saving up for a couple of years prior to finding the car online. We actually started on it March 2013 so its not going terribly fast but it really feels like I'm getting close since the paint and trim has gone on, still have a long ways to go as far as the interior and I'm still not locked in on my engine and trans choice. I have the 351w and I went through the top end only but I'm a little nervous the prior owner had it bore .040 over. He had a 3spd manual in it when i got it and i have a C4 on hand but I really think i want to go with an AODE
  6. Thanks no its not my shop...wish it was but I did play a part in getting the lift
  7. Added the doors and started putting chrome trim on, some of the chrome is ok post polishing but going to need to buy some boomerangs they are pitted something awful. I don't know how I missed it but missing the roof rail trim channel, got a buddy on the case I think Craigslist just may save me again...
  8. Thanks its Viper Blue Pearl PPG, got a great deal on a gallon
  9. Paint turned out better than expected, fat mat looks good hope it works as good as it looks
  10. I haven't been doing very well with updating my thread but here are some photos on the tear down repair progress:clap:
  11. As suspected, some :censored: (surprises) hidden underneath
  12. Remove engine today its off to be look over and fine tuned probably will have a cam added probably a RV cam. not to bad on the rust in the engine bay. we will see what else is discovered as the dis assembly continues...
  13. Thanks for the warm welcome. I am novice at this type of restore but I love mustangs. The car came with 351w which I am going to pull and rebuild, also the guy had a 3spd trans in it, that has to go probably going to go with a C4. really undecided about getting it blasted or having it dipped. i have been reading lots of info good and bad on both methods, any input on experiences with either method would be appreciated. for what I hear the more you dig the more you find on these old cars so I will begin taking her apart to see what I'm really dealing with.
