Here's the underside of mine. Original hood and hole, so functioning.

Thanks for the advice. I'll get him to order the standard hood. He's found an original scoop that's been restored, so want need to get that plastic thing from CJs.
-
Thanks for the info, just wondering if the new hoods from CJs are those dims.
The hood is off my mates 1970 Mustang. He's owned the car for 12 year and he's just spent $30,000 getting the engine rebuilt and body resprayed.
He finally collected the car last week after 1 years restoration and on the way back it was raining and he spun the car and hit the bank.
There is damage to the hood, front fender and a small dent to the rear quarter below the rear fender and that's it. The Luxembourg garage has quoted $7000 for the repair and the insurance company has accepted the claim. Crazy.
He wants to upgrade the hood.

Hi All,
Can you please tell me if the Scott Drake Hood Scoop (C9ZZ-16C630-A) will fit on a 69-70 standard shaker hood please? A mate of mine with a 1970 Sportsback is hoping they'll fit.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Mine has 15x7 Magnums with 235/60/15 BFGs front , and 15x8 Magnums with 245/60/15s BFGs on the rear. All fit fine.

Bought an Edelbrock 8092 3/4 spacer. Hopefully will do the trick.
-
Ok will give it a go, thanks.
-
Trying to fit a Scott Drake oval air cleaner to my Edelbrock Performer, but the spacer they provided is too high. When it's removed it's too low and the base plate looks like it's touching the moving carb components.
Does anyone know of a fix or if there's a shallower spacer please?

On the left is a pimped up 77 Lincoln Town Car convertible.
On the right is the George Barris modifed Lincoln from the film "The Car" from 1977.

This is the best looking coupe I've seen.

Thanks for your help. Found an Export Brace locally so will fit in the New Year. For the time being, I'll restore the original ones.
The braces came off easy. The black / grey paint is thin and no primer. Using wet and dry to remove the surface rust.

There are long tube headers on my 351w. No clearance problems.
-
Great, thanks for your help. Yes shock tower to cowl brace. Is the export brace more rigid?
The car is rot free, just trying to tidy up the engine bay.

Hi All,
The shock tower braces on my car have surface rust and I was thinking of restoring them.
Can you please tell me, if I remove the 4 bolts that secure them, is it going to effect the shock absorber?
Thanks for any help you can give.

Great choice! To the uninitiated it looks like it's the original.
I went for the Hermosa and am loving it.

The old speak support plate was removed and a new plate with a smaller speaker apperture was fitted in it's place. The windows roll down to the bottom fine.
-
They're Hertz DCX 460.3. You'll need more powerful rear speakers as they're not loud but good but for mid / treble.
-
Here are some photos of the 6X4's. Hope this helps.
-
Yes. Made new openings for the 6x4s so they were flush and original speaker grilles fitted over. I'll dig out some photos.

Got the Retrosound fitted today. Had it fitted with Alpines R-S69s rear and Hertz 6x4s in the doors. It does sound good.

Just stumbled on that video on Youtube. Good they got it going but hope they restore it and don't let it rot again.

We couldn't get the Archies here in the UK in 1969 so we improvised.
