  1. Thnaks for that. I will order a strip when I get a moment.
  2. The seal on the metal strip at the back of the window is coming adrift. Is this difficult to change? I asume you have to take the metal strip off and replace it? Thanks
  3. Great work. I'd be happy with that welding.
  4. There are some very sad stories here. My heart brakes for everyone who has lost loved ones. It's made even worse that this was known about and they continued to use it and some countries still do. If any good comes from this it will raise a little awareness of the prolific use of asbestos and the care needed when working around it.
  5. You are a craftsman. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
  6. I see that is Plaintiff's exhibit BX3. A pretty damming letter......and wow!
  7. Very sad. Sorry mate. That must leave a big hole.
  8. That's aweful. It's unbeleiveable how long they kept using asbestos after they found out how bad it is. In Australia they were spraying loose asbestos into house ceilings about 6" thick. It was called 'Mr Fluffy'. It was so dangerous the houses were bought back by the givernment and demolished.
  9. Thanks, this is great. I will hopefully start on the weekend. I still have to align the bonnet from a previous mod so can do it at the same time.
  10. Took two seconds and the issue with the window is fixed. Thanks.
  11. Sounds too easy. I will try to get to it tonight. Thanks
  12. Now I have replace the alloy bracket the glass is definately too far in at the top. I wish I noticed that before putting the door trim back on. I will need to adjust it. Haven't done that before but assume it's not too difficult.
  13. That sounds like a plan. Thanks.
  14. Since the conversion I have had a problem with the fuel gauge. Highest it would read was 1/2. I grounded the wire and it reads full. About 2 months ago I bought a new sender unit. Before installing I hooked up the sender wire and made sure that full was full and empty was empty. Installed and added about 2 gals of petrol and still read empty. Went to the petrol station and put what I thought would equate to 1/2 a tank in it. Only reading 1/4 full which is what it would have read before. I didn't want to fill it as that's just more to drain if I had to change it. Did a lot of head scratching and it should work. I checked before installing. Should work but I was over it and thought I would leave it for another day. Anyway on the weekend I needed to go for a drive and filled the tank. Bugger me. The gauge worked perfectly. What a dickhead. I would have felt like a bigger dickhead if I had started a blog to get help trouble shooting this one.
  15. Unfortunately mine did not have the bolt. Managed to get it to align a lot better. Thanks guys. Appreciate the help. Unfortunately have to slam the door pretty hard to get it to latch. Have tried moving the striker out but then the door is not flush. I may have to live with the door out a little as I found a broken bracket inside that I had to replace. I suspect from all the door slaming. Luckily Sydney Mustangs had a second hand one in stock.
  16. Keep these pictures coming. Loving them.
  17. I've been told I can't refer to my wife as 'my current wife'. I think she reads too much into it.
  18. I feel your pain when paying for an inspection that misses major issues. Good luck with the recovery. Keep the photos coming.
  19. I really appreciate your comments. I like that stat. It's the first one I've seen that's not complete doom and gloom. At the end of the day my level of expsoure is what it is and may amount to nothing. Only time will tell. But the more we make people aware of the risk in areas like underbody deadener the less chance others will be exposed.
  20. That's what I was afraid of. Was coffing up black crap for a few days afterwards. It has me quite concerned.
  21. Are you able to give an opinion on the content of asbestos typically found in underbody deadener on a 69?
  22. I was reading this article on the weekend and had no idea that underbody deadener contains asbestos: https://www.tradeuniquecars.com.au/news/1802/usa-import-solution?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=20185_02_05_UC&utm_term=list_uniquecars_newsletter "The item that really stands out as being asbestos positive all the time, is underbody sound deadeners," "My advice to Australians buying cars here in the USA, is to avoid at all cost vehicles with any underbody sound deadeners on them. It is also commonly found inside quarter panels and under front guards and it’s all the same stuff. It’s hard as nails and very tough to remove, which proves cost prohibitive," "We often find that some brush on sealers contain it, gaskets and materials around the car, but in comparison to underbody spray on sealers, they’re easy to remove and at far less cost." After having spent days under the car with an electric wire brush breathing in that black crap I contacted Bosscraft and to my shock they said every car they tested with underbody deadener was asbestos. I am going to take a sample for testing to be sure but the amount I breathed in has me very concerned. Please be careful. I had never heard of this before.
