  1. Yeah, I'm really hosed in this. Owner of the storage facility takes no liability. I have a good friend who is an insurance agent and he thought my homeowners would cover it. In fact, he was sure that they would provide some coverage. He asked for my policy and after review said that they really covered themselves in this, meaning they won't pay. Most insurance company's would. I gotta tell ya, AAA homeowners just flat out sucks! I've had other issues in the past and they cover nothing. Gotta read that fine print! Thanks fellas, appreciate the sympathy. I suppose things could be far worse....ie. car stolen!
  2. Mystang, it appears from your picture that perhaps one of the hoses is laying against the header. Is that right?
  3. I have the JBA headers too and a TKO600 with hydraulic clutch. If it's not too inconvenient for you, I'd like to see pics of your setup.
  4. Don't want to hijack the thread, but gotta ask......you fellas that installed the Borgeson box, I'd love to see how you routed your hoses?
  5. Thanks Kris. I've had my stuff in that storage place for over twenty years, my car was once in there. Never had a problem. I've always been careful about opening it up when people are around and usually block the front with my truck. There is, however, a Mex food restaurant right in front of my unit, not 25' away. It's relatively new and very busy. The back door of the kitchen faces my unit. There has been a time or two most recently were they were sitting out back smoking and could have seen in the unit. I mentioned that in my police report. But yeah, suspect whoever broke in doesn't know what they have.
  6. Hi kris, I live in Wagoner. I have many feelers out including the Tulsa Mustang club, but I doubt I find these things. The police officer whom took my police report told me that breaking in to these storage units is the thing now that the statutes have been lowered. What was once a felony is now a misdemeanor thus making the risk of getting caught worth it. Don't you know, we have to keep our jails empty.....smart politicians! Life goes on, bump in the road.
  7. Thanks fellas. owner of facility didn't offer or say that he had insurance. I may ask him about it after I check into my homeowners. No cameras either. I didn't sleep at all last night, laid in bed thinking about what else was taken then realized I had my entire front suspension in there as well. This was stuff I purchased through Opentracker Racing....springs, shocks, roller perches, upper and lower control arms, and more.... high end stuff now all gone. I went back up there at three am with a flashlight to confirm and it too is gone. Total taken from me is at least $7K. I am sick to my stomach. They took everything that was boxed and new with the exception of my Dynaflow exhaust system. I have engines in there and a bunch of old parts that I have collected over the years. Appears they did not touch that. I guess in that, I'm fortunate. I've been collecting and buying parts to restore this car for years now and then this. I wonder sometimes if I will ever get this done.
  8. As I sit here typing this, my hands are shaking and I'm filled with anger and rage. I'm trying to restore my Mustang and as such have been accumulating parts for it for years. With the exception of but a few small things, I have just about everything now. The car is fully taken apart and on a rotisserie now. I'm trying to do the mock up, as I'm changing a few things. As my shop is small and my car is apart leaving me little room, I've been putting some parts in a storage unit in my home town. My car was once in there and I've had that unit for many years now. No one knows about it and when I visit it I try to guard the opening so no one can see in. Today I went there to check on some things and noted immediately that the lock that was on it was not the lock I used to secure it. Talk about a bad feeling. I cut the cheap lock that was on it, lifted the door and noted that my TKO 600 trans and all the other items need to make the conversion(car was previously an auto) were gone. I just pulled the invoice on that purchase, $4,750. There may have been some other items taken, but the trans was the biggest financial part of it. I am sick to my stomach and mad as hell. I detest a thief and my hope is that somehow the pain this person has inflicted on me is returned to him ten fold.
  9. Thanks Barnett! Say, I wonder if you might know.... I believe my car came with 1.75" wide rear shoes. I do see however that 2" is available, as are the drums. If my car came with 1.75" shoes and drum, would there be a problem in going to 2" shoes and 2" drum? Thanks, John
  10. The problem I have with replacing the OEM parts is that most of them are made in China. And, what pisses me off is that one really has to look to find out the origin of the product. Looking at replacing it all with Raybestos through Rock Auto. Thoughts/comments please?
  11. Thank you gentlemen! After looking at things and evaluating the use of my car, am thinking I'm going to stick with the stock setup.
  12. Details please? What did you go with and how much did you change out to make the conversion?
  13. I know Jay, and I've thought about what you said prior to posting. I've never really been disappointed with the factory equipped brakes, it's just that I need to replace everything. My booster, which I will keep, needs to be rebuilt. The MC, wheel cylinders, calipers, rotors, drums, all need to be replaced and/or rebuilt. If I've got to do that, I might as well look into a slight upgrade and discs are not that much more than drums from what I'm finding. The conversion appears to be easy, though I'm a bit uncertain about changes needed for the MC. Thanks!
  14. Do I see Tiger stripes in that trunk......kidding! Looking forward to seeing the clear, gonna be nice. How many coats?
  15. I have a 69 Mach 1 with OEM power disc brake system of front discs and rear drums. I'll be needing to replace and/or rebuild what I have, this to include the master cylinder and booster. As such, was thinking that I might just upgrade a bit and go with a four wheel disc set up. I will be keeping with 15" Ford factory Magnum 500's. I believe the rear are 8" while the front are 7", not sure on the offset. I'm not going to be road racing the car and frankly, it's just that if I need to replace all this, I might as well upgrade a bit. Moreover, I do prefer discs over drums. If I go with a four wheel disc set up, what changes will need to be incorporated to run it? The other thing is, I'm converting my car over from an FMX auto to a TKO-600 so things need to fit. Advice on parts or a kit would be most appreciated. Thanks, John
  16. Yes, that Clearwater aqua is nice and it does look better in the sunlight.
  17. That's frigg'in fine work! Body looks perfectly straight, gaps nicely done, gonna be sweet! What color? Rich, was thinking about you the other day as I was perusing your website tutorials. You need a panel alignment tutorial, preferably 69....lol!
  18. As usual, great stuff! At $200k, some people have some serious disposable income!
  19. Thanks for posting pics of the headliner, as I've wanted to see the texture of it. I keep going back and forth on going that route. Big thing about the OEM headliner is putting it in before the glass. And, if for some reason there is an issue after the glass is put in, you're hosed. The car is gorgeous! John
  20. Don't care for it either, Rich. I'd just go with a color that matches the honeycomb panel. Paint looks great, buddy! I'm jealous....lol!!!
  21. Thanks Rich. Keep posting on your build, I'm enjoying it.
  22. Yeah, my car is already primed with SPI epoxy primer and with the exception of the basecoat, everything else will be SPI. Just curious if you thought about using the black SPI epoxy for your engine bay. I do like the sheen of your Eastwood product, looks OEM. Wondering what the SPI epoxy looks like.
  23. You like that Eastwood Classic Black for your engine bay? I have read many have sprayed their engine bay with SPI epoxy black, as it is impervious to brake fluid. I am considering it for my engine bay.
