  1. Does anyone here need a passenger side B-Pillar? I'm thinking of buying the dynacorn set but I only need the driverside outer. Dave
  2. Your getting a pat on the back whether you like it or not. :thumbup1: That looks great. Oh, and thanks for making it look easy. Dave
  3. is that an original part? what is the part number?
  4. I have a friend with a '66 vert and we had to trim his risers along the rocker because the inner rocker on the vert is much beefier. So I think you are on the right track.
  5. Sounds good. I guess I have another question too. If a car has manual drum brakes.....should the power booster holes be covered up or somehow plugged?
  6. Ok.....so I found the seam on the trunk drop off where the old skin was stitched in has a lot of welding blow out. So I'm going to replace just the drop off piece. I've seen some very bad quality stampings that don't even look correct. Can anyone suggest a good drop off with the 3 indents defined well (during stamping) and correct holes?
  7. Are the argent fins correct for all shakers.....or was there a small block/ big block difference?
  8. Mine has been sitting since 1995...... I know the feeling! I got the car when I was 19...and survived my early 20's :) ........now it's time to get to business. I hope to be painted late this year and back on the road next spring.....if all goes well.
  9. Hopefully just an quick question here with an quick answer.....is a power brake pedal support the same for manual and auto? :1eye:
  10. Great info! Please list the product or part number when you get a chance. thanks, Dave
  11. I was told that you only use the rear window gasket/seal for the rear windshield. My thought is that you need to use a sealant to prevent leaking. Is it better to use a sealer on both sides (body side and glass side) of the windshield gasket?
  12. missing my weatherstrip retainers for my fastback. I heard coupe retainers can be modified. Has anyone done this before? How much of a difference are we talking about? Thanks,Dave
  13. What is the price? Do you have a link to the item? The missing one might be in a hidden pile with missing socks.
  14. Thanks for the input! Will try these ideas tonight. Dave
  15. Hood hinges.....are these sloppy by nature? Its one of those things you don't realize has a problem until you are trying to align a hood. This what happens....I have the hood lined up pretty darn good, I open then close the hood and the rear of the hood sticks up about a quarter inch. I can walk over and push the rear of the hood down on both sides and it goes down flat. So, I'm wondering if the hinges have a natural amount of slop or do they sound worn? thanks,Dave
  16. There is a member of this site that goes by the name "MidLife". If you are always chasing electrical issues that drive you nuts, then contact this guy. He will rebuild your original wire harness and thus get rid of "the ghost" in the machine. Highly recommended for a car this old. Hope I explained a little better. Dave
  17. See!.....now I wouldn't have thought about doing that. I did notice mine look flat and depressed. Will try tonight. Dave
  18. Send your wiring in to get refurb'd . Another member(midlife I believe ) does a great job....and no more ghost in the machine.
  19. ditto from me! That is a huge help seeing the picture. I definitely don't have the clips and will get them. thanks, Dave (another Dave) :)
  20. so, it looks like a combo of clips and a foam block . I made foam blocks fit the first time around. I will probably add clips to the blocks I have and call it a day. Dave
  21. well....kinda getting it to fit. Using wood blocks on the fender apron and gently massaging the hump out. It doesn't help that getting the hinges to line up the rear of the hood is a bitch so far.
  22. What is supposed to support the back (the edge closest to the windshield) of the cowl. I used foam blocks in the past. Dave
  23. no I didn't. With the original hood, I didn't have to use shims.....sounds like that may change though.
  24. Hello, I am trying to fit a new dynacorn hood. For those who have done the same, did you encounter a rise in the gap mid-way along the fender....on both sides? The hood is pretty darn close at all the corners but it "humps up" on both sides. Not sure if this requires a little help from bending it . thanks, Dave
