  1. There is no absolute calibration with Ford gauges.  That said, all oil, fuel and water temperature gauges are controlled by the constant voltage regulator.  The only gauge that can be "calibrated" is the fuel gauge.  What I do is monitor gas mileage and when I have a quarter of a tank of gas, I adjust the CVR (there's a trim pot on the back side) so that the gauge reads quarter tank.  That adjustment will affect the other gauges accordingly.

To answer your question, somewhere in the middle of the range.

  2. Well, the I terminal should have power with the VR unplugged and the key on ACC for 1969's but lowered voltage due to a resistor wire required to energize the VR if the alternator lamp bulb goes out.  When the VR is unplugged, it will have a full 12V due to no current load.

The lamp compares the output of the VR (or the ACC-induced power) to RUN-only power when the key is in the RUN position.  I'll bet you'll get the lamp to light up by putting the key in RUN but not running the engine.

I can't believe no comments on my video. Michelle Phillips was hot back in the day........

That video is a great example of poor lip-synching.  Where are the microphones?  Watch the gals sing and not breathe.

Back to the main topic: California is outlawing small gas engines primarily due to the extremely high emissions when other powered devices are reasonably effective.  Sales will be outlawed in another year or two but usage is not outlawed.

I figured someone must make those.  I just enjoy fabricating solutions, it's a hobby, right.

Finding the parts has been problematic, the actual size specs are elusive.  Like, I see those T10 sockets but will they fit the hole correctly?  The CVR does have 9v battery connects, and those are plentiful,  but I haven't checked if the wires need to be resized to match the needed current.

It would be simpler just to buy it......

Well then, since you enjoy fabricating solutions, go for it!  When you get frustrated enough, let me know and I can help you out.
