  1. Thanks for the link, that is the exact car that I am buidingm color and all. I understand the rationale, if the top is never up, then does it really matter, yet your comment is valid since the car appears to at a concourse level of restoration. If my car ever gets to that stage, and all that is left is the top pump etc, and the only time the top is up is when it is in the garage, then I may do the same thing. Remember, we don't know this guys story, maybe he has another project on the go, maybe he feels that the return on the investment for repairing the top is not worth it, maybe he has another project started... In any event, it is nice to see a 69 convertible reach some reasonable money, and it is a sharp looking ride.
  2. I would like to know of any in the Daytona Beach area as well...
  3. I keep hearing about the 2011 BOSS, I have seen TV shows advertised on OLN, but have never caught the show...It is a good thing for the Mustang brand....The Boss is back baby.....
  4. Don't hesitate to post what you are looking for on this website, alot of guys have duplicate or triplicate parts, and now that we are heading into the Winter months, parts gathering and trading starts to increase... Bill from Ottawa
  5. Ruger1 took the words out of my mouth....I look outside and see snow on the ground and all I can do is have hope that someday this build will be complete. In the meantime, I am collecting and cleaning parts in preparation of putting this massive puzzle of a car together someday....I have heard that it is the journey that is the joy, not necessarily the destination, so that may help you enjoy your experience better.... Bill from Ottawa, Canada -2 degrees celcius with light snow
  6. Post a photo if you can, the only thing I have heard of is the leaf spring support rusting through the floor...
  7. I am not sure how open the motor vehicle department is in each state (Cal and Wash), but maybe they could assist you in locating previous owners and thereby provide you with the true history of the car. One never knows until you ask...
  8. Traffic cops, we don't need no stinkin' traffic cops.....it felt like I was playing "need for speed" on the Xbox....just a few red lights blown and a few traffic violations...pretty cool....
  9. Looks like it will be a fun Winter for you, keep the photos coming. Bill from Canada
  10. Comparitely speaking, how expensive is it to have your own core parts chromed, versus buying the ones already chromed..
  11. That is one of my favorite colors as well, and your ride looks really nice. There are lots of options for modifying, and some are not real intrusive as they are mere bolt ons and can be removed when you please. Sometimes it is better to put your energy into making the car cleaner and nicer versus making it different and unique. The car is a classic for a reason, but that is just my opinion and you can obviously do what you like. I guess it comes down to having a vision of what you really want, and then making whatever changes to the car to get you there, ie: concourse versus street, drag versus everyday driver... Thanks for the photos, please post more when you get a chance. Bill from Canada
  12. Jay I sent you an email with pictures of the channels I have, unfortunatelty they are already off the car. Bill

  18. I chaulk it up to the design department trying to be unique and original, taillights are an easy change to make compared to restyling bodypanels, etc...

  22. Hello Al, Many of us are first timers just like you and it is amazing what you learn as you progress. One piece of advice I can give you is to take lots of photos, as we often forget what things were like at the start. Please feel free to post some photos as well. Bill from Canada
