  1. Wouldn't jumping it have different results if it was the battery?
  2. The motorcraft is a special order here. Thoughts on a Borg Warner with lifetime warranty?
  3. Will do. Going to buy a motorcraft this time. I'll have to get one tomorrow. I bought a dura last gold from autozone.
  4. Ok so my 69 mach1 sat for a few months and the battery was dead. I put it on the charger and when I tried to start it it acted like it was dead so I jumped it. It finally started after several cranks. As it started, I heard another noise (like starter not disengaging). I turned the key off and the car shut off but the starter kept trying to start the car with the key out. I figured it was a bad starter solenoid and replaced it. Tried to jump the car after the replacement and the solenoid just clicks. The ground seems fine and all connections appear clean. Any ideas? Could the starter be damaged? Bad solenoid out of the box? Thanks, R
  5. She started finally. She's running rough but she's running. It's been 8 months since she was running so I need check a few things. Must've been the pump!
  6. Hoses were gummy and I changed to stainless steel tank and lines. I'm afraid of ethanol lol. Replaced the pump and haven't tried to start it yet. The old pump appears to be functional. Pumped the pedal and was not getting anything to the carb.
  7. Found no leaks when I pressurized the tank. I have a new pump and can simulate what you are saying before removing the old one. The power steering and AC compressor make removal of the old pump a pain it looks like.
  8. Replaced the tank and lines. Starts momentarily with starter fluid, but not getting fuel to carb. Took off the fuel hose at the pump, put in some air and it came pouring out of the hose. Still won't start so I'm assuming it's the pump. Anything I'm missing? I don't have a manual and haven't done the pump before. Any tips or is it pretty straightforward? Thanks in advance! R
  9. I haven't had time to mess with it until today, but this was exactly the right answer. I grounded it out and the gauge went to full. Thanks guys. This is why I love this site!
  10. I've searched for this, but have not found exactly what I'm looking for. My Mach1 sat for 8 years. I have her running again and driving her the last few weekends. I went and filled up the gas tank and realized the gauge is not working. Was working fine when I parked it and I have not worked on the cluster or anything electrical. Is there a float in the tank that could be stuck or something else? When I put the ignition onto accessory, the gas gauge needle will move very slightly and slowly from left of "E" to slight right of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  11. I've always been that guy. Especially when I was looking for the Mach1 it seemed like I had just missed the perfect deal. I was really happy to finally find this stuff. Time to get to work!
  12. I just picked up an original hood and scoop, fenders, head light buckets, stone deflector, grille and support, and front bumper. Also got a repop front and rear valance and all the trim around the headlight buckets and grille. All in great shape and for a good price. My upstairs man cave looks like a parts warehouse now though ;) The parts were on a 69 convertible that was cloned into a Shelby so they arent damaged and look great. It pays to obsessively monitor Craigslist for parts.
  13. Yeah it has pieces in between each tube on the manifold. This really sucks! I thought there might be an easier way. Now I'm tempted to just wait to paint it later. Sheesh
