  1. Bob; thanks for your recommendation.
  2. With the brake lever lifted against the dash the push rod doesn't come out of the master cylinder. So it isn't a safety concern.
  3. SSBC said that only the original master cylinders have the pushrod locked in.
  4. I just did mustang steve's ball bearing clutch pedal install. I am about to install my pedals and the push rod fell out of my SSBC manual master cylinder. I noticed it has a clip on the end. I pushed the rod in and cant seem to get it to lock in. I believe for safety reasons it needs to be locked in. Should I assemble everything and use the brake pedal as leverage to get it to lock in? Alan
  5. Mustang project LED gauge kits are very good. I did all my interior light with MP LEDS.
  6. So many things are suspect in this barn find, now even the bidding is suspect. Whoever walks away with this will have allot of dough. This is getting more interesting.
  7. I would love to own this boss. Like many of the barn find cars, there will be rust on the underside. You cant tell how bad its rusted by the pictures. There is rust popping out of the trunk lid, which is a bad sign. There is also rust on the rear inner fender panel overlap area on the driver side. Another interesting find is the oil and filter change stickers show a date of 8/22/73 and mileage of 40 ..3 The car was sold on 9/17/69, seems like 10K a year would be correct. It seems that 43K mileage doesn't jive. Anyhow it a great project car. In my opinion the ebay bid @ $ 37K is past its max value. when restored it will be way over market value.
  8. I have a Die Hard 33023 in my Mach. It has been in service so long I cant remember how old it is. My battery gets a workout with my dual fans that run after I shut the car off. The key to longevity for me has been keeping it charged. I always use a battery tender. I like Interstate battery's also.
  9. I agree that original is a better choice over repop. If you desire a piece that is like new, it needs to be restored by an expert. Proper chemistry is needed for a factory anodizing appearance. I recommend "King Of Trim" in SoCal, Contact: Marco Cielak for restoration.
  10. I just ordered the full set of black Sport R seats with white accent stripes and with the TMI Logo's deleted. "Mustang Interiors", can manage custom orders like mine and they gave me a very good price. It should be on my doorstep in 6 weeks. Alan
  11. Mustangtofear, Maybe the increased bolter height on the seat bottom was getting in your customers way during entry. Have you used the 69/70 rear seat foam? Whats the good / bad with the rear foam? Have you used mass backed carpet? Any benefit for mass backed when you have dynamat? You input is appreciated. Alan
  12. Called TMI again, regarding all sport seats, they do not raise the driver. The up charge for removing the TMI logo is 200$ I am swaying toward Black Sport R front and back seats, black stitching and white accent strips in the 1970 vinyl color. Alan
  13. I had a 95 GT and loved the seats. I didn't know the TMI seats raised the height. I am 5"7" so its not a serious problem for me. But you will have a different perspective driving in a higher position. Good to know.
  14. Thanks for the feedback. I also think it is totally wrong to charge $300 to remove the logo. If the logo was down near the side bottom I could live with it. I will not put a set on my car with the logo where it is. I may not buy the seats because of the Logo and the high up charge, just because of principle. I chose the Sport R or I stay with the original. I think the sport R looks like a modern seat with a Mach1 theme. Even my 2013 escape has higher seat bolsters than my 70. What seats do you like? Happy Holiday's
  15. I called TMI, they can make Black Sport R seats a white accent stripe and white stitching for an up charge. I could also eliminate the TMI stitching on the side. I think the white accent strip would really pop and look good in my Mach1. CJPP wont take any special orders. TMI Charges 100$ for the color change to the stripes and $300 to delete the logo. Mustang interiors just passes the upcharge to the customer and their pricing is decent. Alan
  16. My son said that black with white stitching would look better. I tend to agree since I have no gray anywhere, but the accent strip adds a cool look. You can special order different colors from TMI for addition $. I don't like the TMI logo embossed on the side. SM69, very unique seats you have, the adjust ability is great.
  17. nice! and welcome to a fantastic forum.
  18. I agree, the car has tons of white. I think the Black R seats with a gray insert strip and gray stitching would look good.
  19. I am going re-do my seat upholstery since the 45 yr old foam is shot. I have new white TMI door panels ready to go on. My Wimbledon White Mach has white seats with a black stripe. The carpet is black with black inserts. The theme of my restomod build has been to keep it looking original. I am interested in TMI Sport seats, Sport II seats and Sport R seats. The question is how far to depart from original? If I go with Sport or Sport II, I can stay with white and a black stripe. If I go with sport R they will be black. I don't think black will look out of place. Also the black will not show dirt, which is a problem with white. http://www.cjponyparts.com/tmi-upholstery-sport-r-series-seat-mach-1-1969-1970/p/U87-V/ http://www.cjponyparts.com/tmi-upholstery-sport-ii-series-seat-mach-1-1969-1970/p/U95-V/ http://www.cjponyparts.com/tmi-upholstery-sport-seat-mach-1-style-1969-1970/p/U6S-V/ http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p25/Alan_MacDougall/Mach1/DSCN3305.jpg Opinions are welcome. Happy Holidays Alan
  20. I would use Ospho to neutralize any remaining rust in the pores.
  21. I think it takes a mechanically skilled person to pick up a welder and replace body panels that fit correctly.
  22. I would replace the intake manifold at the same time. If you keep it as a mild 351w performance engine than 185's would be my choice.
  23. what edelbrock intake do you have? What headers do you have? What pistons do you have. Does the engine have stock displacement and compression?
