What if you made the handle end into a small rubber mallet, all in one tool.......or at least that's how I sent off for patient ap today.....JK

Seriously, it doesn't cost much to file a provisional patent. It lasts a year and that will give you enough time to sell the idea to one of those specialty tool makers like Lisle. Even if it doesn't make you rich, at least you'll get more than if you just walk away from it.
