Mike65 476 Report post Posted May 29, 2016 I am closing in on completing the sheet metal work on my 69 Coupe & was wonderinging what I should do next? My car is a bare shell in primer, I was thinking about getting the car painted, but the car is in a one car garage & it needs to be moved in & out of the garage to work on it so I am thinking on letting the paint wait until last. My thoughts now are either replace the rear gears, build the engine, & install the engine & 5 spd, or rebuild steering, suspension & the brakes. I am leaning towards doing the steering, suspension & the brakes. What does everyone think?.
barnett468 418 Report post Posted May 29, 2016 if you did not use epoxy primer and it gets water on it, it can rust the body and ruin the primer.
ray1970 88 Report post Posted May 29, 2016 Im a big fan of getting as much of the running gear sorted out before paint(If possible) Dents and dings... Things that don,t fit well or at all. But getting grease and dirt on your fresh primer is not good...Still easier to fix than fresh paint..
