Blind Welders Like Me

Recommended Posts

This may be old news to you folks, but I'll share anyway. I've worn glasses for my nearsightedness since 1968, and started wearing bifocals about 10 years ago because my arms got too short. After a recommendation from an older brother I picked up a +2.0 optical lens for my welding hood for $5. World of difference. I highly recommend one if your eyesight is waning.

I've got an eye appointment next month to get some new contacts, I can't hardly read this screen. I TIG welded up a coupling at work the other day and had to borrow a pair of reading glasses from one of the guys in my shop.  I've worn glasses since I was in kindergarten, always wondered what it would be like to see without help. I am thankful for the eyesight I do have, it could be worse.

I feel for you Bob :)
