I've worn glasses for my nearsightedness since 1968, and started wearing bifocals about 10 years ago because my arms got too short. After a recommendation from an older brother I picked up a +2.0 optical lens for my welding hood for $5. World of difference. I highly recommend one if your eyesight is waning. latoracing 256 Report post Posted February 22, 2015 I've got an eye appointment next month to get some new contacts, I can't hardly read this screen. I TIG welded up a coupling at work the other day and had to borrow a pair of reading glasses from one of the guys in my shop. I've worn glasses since I was in kindergarten, always wondered what it would be like to see without help. I am thankful for the eyesight I do have, it could be worse.
