1969Fstback 58 Report post Posted March 5, 2014 Thanks, I looked at those and the price is reasonable til you add freight of $170. I have looked at all the usual places. Wondering if there is some place else where combined price is less. I have found some on ebay for $450 free shipping, but not sure of the brand name. SWPruett 83 Report post Posted March 5, 2014 I looked high and low for the best deal on a roof skin for my 70 Boss and ended up going with Tony D. Branda. They had a Dynacorn (the only place that makes them now) in stock and shipped it truck freight in perfect condition. Good folks to deal with too. Normally, I do most of my business with NPD, but in this case, they didn't have one in stock at my local Michigan warehouse and the price was a bit more to go along with the wait. I don't do buisiness with CJ Pony Parts anymore, so that was never an option for me. One word of caution is that the shape of the driver upper corner of these skins is not quite right to fit the windsheild trim and will require a little metal work to get perfect. The passenger side is perfect right out of the box.
Rsanter 152 Report post Posted March 5, 2014 Is the coupe and fastback roof that much of a contour difference that you can't weld in a patch panel from a coupe I have a nice coupe roof if you need a part cut from it Bob
jmlay 80 Report post Posted March 6, 2014 1969Fstback, Where are you located? There are may Dynacorn dealers across the country, does not have to be a Mustang parts distributor. i would suggest you call them & ask if there is a distributor in you local are.: http://www.dynacorn.com/ContactUs.aspx
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted March 6, 2014 The thing about sheet metal is the freight. Someone has to pay it one way or another. If Dynacorn ships it to me or I have it dropped shipped., it still cost.
Must1969 10 Report post Posted March 6, 2014 Depending on where you live, there is a guy in oxford NC that parts out old mustangs. He probably has one that he can cut off a car but you would have to pick it up.
1969Fstback 58 Report post Posted March 7, 2014 Yep, shipping is rough on this part, but, Tony D. Branda has the lowest combined price. I had never heard of them until I posted the question. So thanks for the help.
