TMI Mach 1 Door Panels

Recommended Posts

Many years ago I purchased hard covers for my 70 Mach1 door panels. I am thinking of redoing my seats, carpet and door panels. Does anyone have feedback on the TMI Deluxe door panels? Are they soft like the originals, how about fit, finish and the carpet inserts? I am also interested in new TMI front and rear seat foam, any feedback? How about the new Mach1 ACC original loop repop carpet with the molded backing? Any feedback on these parts is appreciated. Still on my quest for perfection... Alan

I've not seen the TMI ones yet. I've seen the Mustang Market and the Dashes Direct ones. The Mustang Market was pretty nice, but couldn't get past the plastic foam backing whereas the Dashes Direct had the original-style cardboard backing. Dashes Direct had crisper lines, but were harder and some of the predrilled holes didn't line up the best. The Mustang Market was a bit poofier looking due to them being softer, but the holes lined up perfectly.

The plastic backing is why I like them. Much more durable than the original style...doesn't tear from the clips when removing and replacing the panels.

I installed tmi deluxe seat covers more than 22 yrs ago and they are very good. Since I am replacing the foam, new white deluxe covers are going on. I spoke to tmi about there door panels and they said went through great pains to make the material look and feel like the originals. The backing is a hard strong plastic which will repel water and will not warp like the masonite. I am buying a set soon. Tmi also makes mach1 carpet. The pictures are bad at their website so they are sending me a carpet sample. I am interested in the tmi carpet since the acc carpet I installed didn't wear very good. Tmi said the mach1 carpet inserts are black but they could make gray inserts at an up charge. Anyone know who sell tmi carpet?

It appeared in my checkout basket. Anything over $400 was the $120 anything over $500. was $150 back. My understanding is I have to spend it in 30 days. No problem with that! Scott Drake wood grain inserts and new running horses to freshen up will do it.
