Alan_Mac 48 Report post Posted October 1, 2013 Many years ago I purchased hard covers for my 70 Mach1 door panels. I am thinking of redoing my seats, carpet and door panels. Does anyone have feedback on the TMI Deluxe door panels? Are they soft like the originals, how about fit, finish and the carpet inserts? I am also interested in new TMI front and rear seat foam, any feedback? How about the new Mach1 ACC original loop repop carpet with the molded backing? Any feedback on these parts is appreciated. Still on my quest for perfection... Alan

Alan_Mac 48 Report post Posted October 2, 2013 Mustangmarket door panels look decent. Do they look like an exact duplicate of the originals? If not, what are the differences? Are the handle cup holes cut out? Thnak for the response. Alan
buening 63 Report post Posted October 2, 2013 I've not seen the TMI ones yet. I've seen the Mustang Market and the Dashes Direct ones. The Mustang Market was pretty nice, but couldn't get past the plastic foam backing whereas the Dashes Direct had the original-style cardboard backing. Dashes Direct had crisper lines, but were harder and some of the predrilled holes didn't line up the best. The Mustang Market was a bit poofier looking due to them being softer, but the holes lined up perfectly. A couple old posts that may be handy: http://www.428cobrajet.org/forum/index.php?topic=9687.0 http://forums.vintage-mustang.com/concours-forum/583037-69-deluxe-door-panels.html http://forums.vintage-mustang.com/vintage-mustang-forum/650403-1970-deluxe-interior-door-panels-2.html

Maybe I will be the first buyer. Thanks Buening
buening 63 Report post Posted October 2, 2013 You might send Rick at NPD an email or PM and see if he's laid eyes on them yet.
rmarks 20 Report post Posted October 3, 2013 The Mustang Market was pretty nice, but couldn't get past the plastic foam backing whereas the Dashes Direct had the original-style cardboard backing. The plastic backing is why I like them. Much more durable than the original style...doesn't tear from the clips when removing and replacing the panels. Machspeed 219 Report post Posted October 3, 2013 Great post, as I'm in the market for this stuff. I'm liking what I see in regards to the Mustang Market stuff. Can anyone comment on their seat covers and carpet?
Alan_Mac 48 Report post Posted October 5, 2013 (edited) I installed tmi deluxe seat covers more than 22 yrs ago and they are very good. Since I am replacing the foam, new white deluxe covers are going on. I spoke to tmi about there door panels and they said went through great pains to make the material look and feel like the originals. The backing is a hard strong plastic which will repel water and will not warp like the masonite. I am buying a set soon. Tmi also makes mach1 carpet. The pictures are bad at their website so they are sending me a carpet sample. I am interested in the tmi carpet since the acc carpet I installed didn't wear very good. Tmi said the mach1 carpet inserts are black but they could make gray inserts at an up charge. Anyone know who sell tmi carpet? Alan_Mac 48 Report post Posted October 10, 2013 I just ordered the TMI door panels, $399, no shipping charge and a $120 credit. WhoooHooo! Can't wait to see them..
prayers1 153 Report post Posted October 10, 2013 How did you get the credit? Let us know how you like them, pics too!
Alan_Mac 48 Report post Posted October 10, 2013 It appeared in my checkout basket. Anything over $400 was the $120 anything over $500. was $150 back. My understanding is I have to spend it in 30 days. No problem with that! Scott Drake wood grain inserts and new running horses to freshen up will do it.
