Mattmustangman1969 10 Report post Posted December 5, 2008 Hey, i am running a MSD 6AL and i was curious where you guys(if running a 6A or 6AL) mounted it, i used to have it mounted in the engine compartment but i know that they don't like heat.... and after cleaning up the compartment and shaving all the holes i am looking for a new place preferably hidden of where to mount it. one option i saw was putting it under the dash... or if you guys have any ideas let me know.. Mufflerbearing 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2008 Mounted mine same location but with industrial Velcro. My engine runs hot (428 CJ + headers) but no problems with box failure. Plus no holes and can remove it in seconds. Great anti theft. I'll try to attach pics
BuckeyeDemon 211 Report post Posted December 7, 2008 I'm interested in the same thing as mustangman. I want mine to be hidden, so spectators don't see an aftermarket box. any reason not to put it inside the front fenderwell? maybe protect it with a stone shield? these units are sealed? is there an issue with water? 02Lightning 10 Report post Posted December 7, 2008 I would be afraid to mount it where water can get to it. Mine is also mounted in the same location as the others. I just made a stainless bracket that bolts to the 3 shock tower bolts so I wouldn't have to make holes.
