I would use either of the 2.87 gear trannies because they have a numerically lower first gear, so it is actually usable because you can go faster than 6 mph before you have to shift. A 3.27 or or numerically higher first gear is good for steep hill climbing or a lame V8 or even lamer 6 cylinder engine.

    TKX . . . . . . . . . .2.87, 1.89, 1.28, 1.00, .068

I just found out yesterday they came out with the New TKX transmission same as the TKO600 but slimmer tighter case made just for the Classic Muscle Cars/ Hot Rods. I notice they have several choices for our Fords. Nice!

Welcome to the Forum. I did the T5 swap On my 69 Years back(like 10 years ago). I used 1 from a junkyard 90 Mustang V8 5.0 . The input shaft cone was broken all around the nose Which is common i guess if driven Hard, they were made of aluminum. I replaced with the Steel Ford Racing Cone. I went clutch cable on mine. Along with parts necessary The swap was easy and fit well almost like it was meant to be from the factory. T5 shifts like butter and absolutely love it but i never Really go hard on it from a dead stop.  Great for Cruising and just Driving it ,  I wouldnt go T5 for launching from a dead stop .  My engine is a Modded 351w . My plan is I will go TKO600 .82 final 5th gear along a  hydraulic External slave in the years to come as i save up money for that Project . I have read (internet)that on a 69 the Tko600 clears the tunnel. Some say the TKO600 shifts smooth, Others say different.

J's69Mach1 got a reaction from lanky in 3g alternator
Thanks to all your help here. I finished the 3g upgrade today on my 69 mach 351w(Msd Dist & Msd Box. Charging is good at 14.38v while in idle. Lights are bright , turn signals blink good at solid steady pace, while radio on & defroster fan on. My Tachometer works. Alt light came on at start up then turned off. I ended up using a junkyard 3g alternator from a 95 taurus v6 3.0 ohv. 130 amp small case 7" spacing . I swapped to V pulley while at Junkyard from an old Cadillac alternator , used my handy battery impact with 15/16 socket for pulley removal. I fabricated an extension bracket like Lanky ' s  picture worked perfect. I used Pa Performance kit Voltage Regulator /harness. Due to my Factory Tachometer I think, my factory Harness had an extra wire which was connected to Stator stud on back of old 1g alternator.  I called Pa Performance  (they replied they never had that question before,as to where it connects to on 3G alternator).  So they said connect it to Stator  wire on 3G alternator . Hope this might help someone else.

J's69Mach1 reacted to 4MuscleMachines in Edelbrock IAS Shocks less than 50 miles
These shocks are for 71-73 Mustangs but will fit 69-1970 Mustang as well since I will provide the OEM shock caps for a 71-73 car that you can simply remove your 69-70 shock tower caps and install these without modification.

The rear set of two IAS shocks fit 66-73 Mustangs and the front will fit either 69-70 or 71-73 (with the provided shock caps). These shocks were put on my car and then removed since it went under a pro-touring upgrade that took way longer than anticipated. That's why they have less than 50 miles on them. The shocks do not leak nor have they ever been damaged or rebuilt. I am the original owner and can provide a reciept from Summit Racing as well.

The only issue is that I rattle can painted them satin black so they would look stock. They are originally red in color with black accordion boots.

You can still find these sought after shocks occassionally on eBay for at least $120 each. My price is $170 delivered to your door within the contiguous USA. Thanks!
