  1. i have been to shows in the past where i was one of two 69 coupes in the show... got a trophy..... i beat the other one, but... ya know... i had a 50/50 chance. :whistling: i cant recall seeing any grande 69's at any local shows of late in the last few years..
  2. wholly cow.... did macgiver design that thing... geez ... its just missing the paper clip.
  3. just had to post... i was hesitant to purchase a radiator off of ebay especially with it being touted as cooling 750HP guarantee! etc. BUT, i have to say i am very impressed with the build quality of this radiator from champion cooling systems .. model 338 is what i ordered. Cant believe how little it weighs. so in the months ahead we shall see if it keeps the 408 stroker cool:biggrin: the dual 12" fans that came with the kit are no name from china but i still have to install a relay and switch system to enable the fans. Demon 750 annular came in also... looks nice!!:tongue_smilie:
  4. My 69 351W 2V came with one...:tongue_smilie:
  5. wow... would love to hear the story behind that one... i think..:tongue_smilie:
  6. the fans mount on the back of the radiator and pull thru... but your probably correct that i don't need one... i did email the vendor to see if they made a shroud for the dual fan kit. with aluminum heads, intake and radiator... now if i can find a phenolic spacer to between the intake and carb... I probably need to put vents in the hood like the GT2 project to allow all that heat to get out of the engine compartment...:tongue_smilie:
  7. didnt all AC cars come with the tinted glass?
  8. interesting application.. what coil rate and shock did you use?
  9. yeah waiting on the photo of the 69 billet and the hood scoop insert. sounds interesting if it looks just like the stock unit but billet.:tongue_smilie:
  10. more parts ordering... off of ebay... after checking out my aftermarket 3 row brass radiator i purchased in 94 from NPD and remembering the hole that was soldered way back when. i ordered a new 3 row aluminum radiator with dual 12" fans... i still need to get a shroud of some type.. also ordered a Mighty Demon 750 mech secondary annular carb. i spoke with BG support and they recommended the mighty demon 750 mech secondary (flows 900) based on my setup with the 408 stroker, AFD heads and T56 etc. hopefully the annular will allow some streetability along with better throttle response and maybe.. maybe some gas mileage when i hit the .50 6th gear on the T56:tongue_smilie:
  11. got a nice hole in my radiator that i had cleaned up. ordered a 3 row aluminum off of ebay with 2 - 12" fans. champion type. we will see how the quality is when it gets here.
  12. youll figure the wiring out dont sweat it .... btw my dad also had bypass surgery.. amazing that they have the procedure down to a science... in and out in a timely manner... recovery is quick also. amazing to me. they have come a long way!
  13. yep i agree with buckeyedemon -- worse case youll have to shave it..
  14. oh i have many times... just cant decide on the design... i.e the Boss 429 logo but with a 408 instead ... or in the standard 69 GT stripe with Boss 408 etc.. but i like what you have done.. looks good! PM'd ya on the headers:tongue_smilie:
  15. great find! i may have to order the set.... "btw, the red anniversary addition cobra calipers are on sale right now http://www.buyfordracing.com/ "
  16. could have been the oil filter. hard to tell but under pressure it may have squirted oil everywhere on that side.
  17. off topic... like your subtle boss 351 emblem.... nice!! :tongue_smilie:
  18. yep.... i loved the brakes on my 96 cobra... when i move up to 17" wheels i will be getting his kit...
  19. if it is oil.... check and see if the oil filter rubber gasket is ripped.. you will only see it when removing the oil filter.. if so it will pump every bit of oil in your motor out... ask me how i know....:scared: 96 cobra... got busy and didn't have time to change the oil myself... took it to a garage to have it changed... then about two days later while i was pulling away from a light... 20 miles an hour.. nothing but smoke.. scared the @#$% out of me... pulled into the turn lane... called a wrecker and had it towed home. . looked like they put it on either without lubing the rubber seal or over tightening the filter... ripped it ..thank you for mobil1 synthetic... figured out what happened... removed that POS fram filter they installed... installed a Ford filter.. filled with synthetic.. life was good..:tongue_smilie: i wont get on my soap box about fram filters and the sealing problems. ditto.. hope your dad is doing good.
  20. make sure you tell whomever your dealing with you have a early date code C9 block due to the 9.480" deck height. in my search for stroker kits, most stroker kits are for the D4AE-DA 74 and up 9.503 deck height.
  21. ok - now we have all the parts to do the clutch install. the mcleod kit arrived from modern driveline. we are getting together sat night 9.26.09 to install the clutch pedal and see how long the night goes with the clutch setup.:punk: we will take plenty of pics as we install, but as an example i have posted a few pics from a install of the kit off of modularfords by anthony05gt -- which has a nice write up of his install, although on a newer model mustang using the mcleod kit. ah always something... stang work night canceled... hopefully sometime next week edit 10.6.09 hmmm -- pilot bearing was not in the parts shipped ... talked to will at Modern Driveline today 10.6.09 ... pilot bearing and a full block off plate for the quick time bellhousing should be here by friday 10.9.09. i have a early quick time bellhousing so i have a 1/2 block off plate. also, ordered a manual power disc brake pedal from mustangs plus, so i dont have to cut my original auto power disc brake pedal....
  22. ok.. a few pics of the pedal setup. we decided to remove the cluster and dash pad to access the illusive last bolt that holds in the pedal hangar assembly.. now we painted it, removed the stock bushings for the brake and installed the roller bushing kit. we will reinstall sometime this week.. hopefully.
  23. sounds cool.. cant wait for the pics...:tongue_smilie:
  24. hmmm .. so does it accept the 69 shelby insert and lettering..
