  1. Check to make sure that the "circuit board" on the back of the cluster didn't delaminate causing the gauge to short out.
  2. Well....she's getting ready for her facelift. Tomorrow might be a good day.
  3. Wish we could get some decent pictures of people's blackout hood options.
  4. I'm thinking that Mercedes Black is the way to go. Anyone go this route?
  5. I have to question the accuracy of those guidelines. I know a black 69 Mach 1 with black interior that came with a red stripe.....but the chart lists a gold stripe. Maybe it was special ordered with the red.
  6. Should have read back a few entries.....looks like Kevin tried it.
  7. Anyone ever try this?...... My body guy asked about painting the hood black(original color).....then scuffing and just using a flattening agent over that. I think the tone would not be very consistent.
  8. Maybe it had some unknown issues. I know a guy in the area that got his 69 Boss 429 when it was a few years old and drove it through a few winters and road salt. Then he did a crap job with bondo to fix the holes in the fender aprons and rear quarters.....then he painted the whole car dark blue with what looked like a bunch of rattle cans.
  9. Final dress rehearsal......going back into final high build as assembled. Paint is finally around the corner.
  10. Brenda said the only reason they had them was because of an overrun in production. They were only supposed to come with the valve covers.
  11. All these maped vem, japes vem, japed vem, amped vem and so on all show up as liking my comments. I know these are fake accounts. Admin?.....
  12. Thanks Brian........traced the ones from eBay back to Tony Brenda and bought direct from them. Dave
  13. Hey guys, Trying to identify some screw holes on my doors. The Blue arrow points to a screw that holds a clip on the inside of the door but nothing was in the clip. Farther down, the green arrows point to 2 Phillip head screws that are just there. My guess is something to do for weatherstripping but not sure. Thanks
  14. Unusable? I thought the baffles prevent oil from splattering out?
  15. Good question. I guess we need pictures of the steel valve covers.
  16. Got new deluxe door panels from mustang market. Anyone have a clue how to attach the strips to the door panel side? The originals were stapled on.
  17. I did follow mustang Steve's guidelines. I used a 69 power disc (automatic car) brake pedal on my stick car which originally had manual drums. Just trimmed the foot pad. Could there actually be a difference or might it be common to have mis-matched pedals?
  18. Rebuilt my pedal support with the roller bearing. Now when looking at it, it looks misaligned. It could be correct but just looking at it different now. Does it look right?
  19. Pulled my original valve covers out of storage since 1987. They were cleaned and polished and put away. Now I realize the the buffing guy must have removed baffles (possibly for cleaning?). Does anyone possibly have junk valve covers or maybe send a few pictures or tracing of the baffles? The screws are still there . Thanks
  20. I would be careful. The amount of force needed to strip the chrome can damage the aluminum.
  21. Yep.....going with red stripe. It will make the car 100% original again.
