So this Russian kid who now lives in Germany loves American muscle.  So he decided to go to Texas and buy a 69 Mustang, then drive it around country to see America.  His eventual plan is to ship the car back to Germany and restore it.  Pretty cool.  I wonder if I can fly to Frankfurt and buy an E30 to drive around Europe for a month.

So I'm making my Christmas list of projects I'd like to do over the winter and I'm thinking of putting in a rear sway bar.  I really like the idea of the adjustable style bars.  So there are 2 that seem almost identical.  The TCP and Hellwig.  Does anyone know why the TCP one would be worth $100 more?

I wanted to share a few experiences from the last month. I've been trying to get 69 back on the road for 3 years and have been driving it as much as possible the last month. What I've been really pleased with is there are a lot more 69/70s out there than I thought. And Close to me. Plus beyond just cruising in a nice car, I'm finding each drive to be an experience for other reasons.

The first time I took my wife on a cruise we saw a 1969 sports roof (from the stripes it was probably a mach), and a red 1970. That was on a 90 minute Sunday drive.

The next time I went out I stopped to look at an Old Galaxy on the side of the road and found a Classic/Hot Rod consignment place:

Burned and extra hour of my time than I expected and got lost going to my original destination, but who cares.

Finally today was the kicker. I took a lunch time drive (as I'm working from home this week) and a guy in a random neighborhood 3 miles away flags me down. "Nice car he says, what year?' He says. We talk for a few minutes then he says. I've got a 70 Boss 302. I'm thinking 'Yeah right ok'. Sure enough he opens the garage and there on blocks, not driven in decades is a survivor. All Original Grabber Orange Boss 302. He's owned it for 43 years and is the second owner. He insisted I sit in it and work through the gears! Really nice guy (like most Mustangers I find).

I didn't really expect to find all this stuff in a Northwest Suburb of the Twin Cities. Next trip on Friday if the weather is ok - Off to French Lake Auto where the Fast N Furious guys found a killer 69 last season.

Amazing. Besides the 2 cars on the street I wouldn't have know any of this was close to my house. Anyway just thought I'd share because beyond just getting to drive a cool car, I'm finding the coolest things, and meeting the coolest people. What more could you ask for in a hobby?

Whoo... New third member is on it's way.  Hello True Track.  I guess I'll have to wire up the control module for the Gearvendor's so I can install both the O/D and the rear end at the same time.

Check out midlife first.  He can send you one for your car that will be cheaper and it has all the proper connectors.  I used one and it was super easy to put in (of course my dash was out). http://midlife66.com/

Yeap.  I used an electric impact wrench and good gloves.  It was pretty easy.

I didn't attempt to splice this in.  When I did the upgrade a couple of weeks ago I ran a 6 gauge with a mega fuse (175amp) taped off the Grey wire as it wasn't fused and I figured if the 175 amp blew the grey wire would melt and take my harness with it.  What I used was the PA Performance kit that replaces the external regulator.  It's $30 has easy to follow instructions.  It was worth the money.  Unplug and unbolt the old regulator.  Bolt in the PA Performance box.  Plug back in.  The kit comes with a harnesses the plugs right into the alternator and there are 2 connections to make on the alternator it self.

Install Instructions (might help you figure out wiring even without the box)

You can get it from CJ but it took 3 weeks.

Summit and Jegs don't have it listed that I could find.

American Muscle seems to have the best price but I've never ordered from them.

Yesterday actually I finished testing and installing contour fans with a DCC F45 controller.  It's a pretty slick set-up.  I need to get it on the road to see how it handles but those duel fans really move air and fan shroud fits like it was made for the car.  Not sure if I'll still have time this year to do the rear end 3rd member and put in the Gear Vendors.   Life keeps getting in the way of hobbies ;)
