  1. If I was closer and you were in a selling mood I would take it off your hands. I like the FMX - but don't like the difficulty/expense in getting parts. Having spares is good IMHO.
  2. Getting near the end of the build and now it is time to turn my attention to the wiring. Anyone know of quality differences between Mr Mustang brand and Alloy Metal wiring? I know they are bought USA made but the price difference is steep. For example tail light harness approx $250 Alloy and the Mr Mustang is $175 (can get one locally for $150). Can't understand why the $100 difference. Both harnesses come with the correct light sockets already installed. Who out there has used Mr Mustang or Alloy -- I have seen posts about the great quality of Alloy but wonder if the increased cost is warranted.
  3. Maybe they meant the parking paw - it is supposed to 'lock' the tranny preventing the rear wheels from rolling. They might have screwed up putting it in and something broke which could have messed up the reverse gears. Parts are fairly easy to come by so they shouldn't have any problems getting them. I think if they try and tell you the part failed and they aren't responsible I would pitch a *itch - since they should have noticed it was worn (doubtful) when they were tearing it down and/or reassembly.
  4. Doesn't really matter -- the clear one helps to confirm fuel is flowing and it is sometimes easier to see how 'dirty' it is. Check around and you should be able to find another clear one if that is what you want.
  5. Dirty fuel filter -- I would start there and then check the carb bowls. As good as place of any to start and no very difficult.
  6. Jerry - I looked at your previous Posts and couldn't find where you listed the name of the company you ordered it from. To see your old Posts click on your username - then on View Public Profile. On the Profile page click on the Statistics tab and you will two links where you can see all of the Posts you started or the ones you commented on. One of them might refresh your memory.
  7. I was poking around Flea-Bay for something else and came across this listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-70-Mustang-Fastback-Tinted-LH-1-4-Window-SUNX-/321149682673?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ac60343f1 Cheaper than the other postings mentioned earlier in this thread. Not sure if you still need it.

  9. In addition to the hood molding I am also needing to replace my front/rear window moldings. So same request -- best aftermarket suggestions.

  11. Looking to replace the front and rear molding/trim. I read the reviews for the stuff CJ sells so I am going to stay away from the stuff they have. Who has found a vendor with good quality/fit molding? Ideally, I want it to fit right out of the box and not have to tweak it. My car is a sportsroof.

  13. Has anyone tried to use OEM style hangers to hang a Magnaflow 15816 Stainless Steel 2.5" Dual Cat-Back Exhaust System? The Magnaflow kit came with hangers but I would like to use OEM style similar to these I found on Flea-Bay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/370563616438?item=370563616438 I am barking up the wrong tree?

  15. I am guessing you pulled that from Chockostang's website. While many things on the "INTERNETZZZ" aren't to be believed -- Dan at Chockostang knows more about the front end components on these cars than many of the original engineers. He knows his stuff and will not lead you in the wrong direction. Send him an E-mail with any and all questions you have and he will respond quickly.
  16. I had my steering stuff rebuilt by Chocko, did the UCA drop and I am installing an export brace. So we have similar builds. I went with John, opentracker@sbcglobal.net, at OpenTracker. We talked on the phone and exchanged several E-mails discussing how the car will be driven and what kind of motor/trans was going in it. He had several suggestions and came up with a "list" - I used his list to compare prices and on somethings (rear springs, front coils, 1 1/8" sway bar) I was able to find cheaper but same quality as the stuff he suggested. He looked at the 'cheaper' items and said they would work fine - in most cases the prices were similar but free shipping saved a bunch of $$. I got UCA, roller perches, poly insulators, and rear shocks from him. I would recommend shooting him an E-mail and discussing your build.
  17. By Sun-X do you mean tinted in some way? My '69 has '70 style bolt in glass and the quarter windows have the Carlise green tinted glass.
  18. I think Bruce is right. If you want rock hard evidence shot an E-mail to Dan at Chockostang (chockostang@msn.com) he will know for sure and tell you the specifics on why/why not.
  19. The biggest pain for the buyer will be shipping of course. A couple of weeks ago some guys were selling trannies (c4, c6, and various Chevy) at a swap meet for close to scrap prices. They said they were selling cheap because they had a hell of time getting people to trust they were good. It is a big gamble to pay hundreds of dollars for a complex part like a tranny and have to trust that it is good and will last. Have you tried to sell it locally? BTW -- my car is still not together. At the painter (been there for a while now).
  20. Did you rebuild yours again? Is it the one you pulled out last year (painted like your car was)?
  21. If the government wanted you to see the pics they would've sent them to you :-). The government has a badge and is here to help :-) muahahahahah
  22. Chelby - did you read some of the comments on the Eastwood site about their stuff? I looked into it because of the cost is so much cheaper but there were too many bad comments. Most them were that once the weather outside got hot - the backing began to breakdown and ooze out of the car. I just didn't like the thought of my car oozing. So I am steering clear of the Eastwood stuff. If you get it and have great results please post.
