You have lots of options. Here is a great source for parts, and info, to make several different kinds of 5 speed swaps work. http://moderndriveline.com/index.html

If it has ignition points take a Petronix conversion kit with you, and convert it to electronic ignition before you hit the road. It's an EASY swap, and a great piece of mind.

Why not just purchase some used shop manuals? I have a set for my '70. It's nice to have the actual book in front of you while working on a car.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-FORD-SHOP-MANUAL-SET-SERVICE-BOOKS-MUSTANG-MORE-/220825973725?pt=Motors_Manuals_Literature&hash=item336a40f3dd#ht_500wt_956

Help me duplicate my old tire size
Powershift replied to prayers1's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
Well, if you plan to use a 295 rear tire it's nearly the same width as my 285s. My wheels are 9" wide, with the 5.5" backspace, as I mentioned. I think the same backspace for your 15" wheels, with a similar width (9"), would fit like mine... -

Nearly impossible to tell from that photo. They appear to stick out a ton too. I have 285s on the back of my '70. The wheels are 17X9, with a 5.5" back space. All the tire is inside my wheel wells too.... if that helps you at all. -

This one looks good to me..... http://wizardcooling.com/shop/ProductDetails.aspx?BaseID=81 EDIT: Ooops, just noticed the inlet is on the wrong side. But, a simple phone call or Email and I'm sure they can put the inlet and outlet wherever you need them.

I think it would hurt performance, be a waste of energy, and it would probably sound goofy too. Do one or the other, but not both.
