  1. Made more progress recently. -Trans installed. cross member mounted, shifter installed -Lots of plumbing. Brake lines complete, fuel line complete, carb linkage and tv cable installed. Trans cooler lines run. -MSD box installed We tried to keep everything low in the engine bay. Most everything is attached to the sub frame rails.
  2. "Final push to the finish. Just a few details and cut & polish missing now. And still for sale. Late Christmas present to your self? :poke: " Thanks for the update.. Truly a unique, outstanding build. As far as the Christmas present, I'd certainly be thankful if someone gave it to me, but I'm not that good to myself.
  3. Joe Gibbs HR High zinc synthetic http://www.drivenracingoil.com/dro/hr4-synthetic-10w-30html/
  4. Got the car up in the air to install the transmission. Was able to get some decent pics of front and rear suspension.
  5. Great work! Must be nice to see it so close to being finished!
  6. Here are a couple of other links you might find useful. Lentech likes to convert the AOD, and Bauman's focus is the AOD-e.... Each has its advantages. http://www.becontrols.com/techguide_2.htm http://www.lentechautomatics.com/aodtech.html
  7. Bob, you're right, I didn't document the fab work. The hoop was put in in December of last year, and I mentioned that in the post of 12/10/12. You can also see the rest of the supports in the post on 2/20/13. That post was mostly about the Lizard Skin, though. The rollbar wasn't a kit. The hoop was purchased, but the rest was fabbed to fit the car. The hoop is welded to the subframe connectors through the floor. The side supports are welded to a tube that was welded across the back in back of where the trap door to the trunk would have been. I can take some more pics, but probably cant post them until next week.
  8. Thanks. The rollbar has been in for about a year. The yellow is just tape
  9. Making some progress in the engine bay. Plug wires in. Master cylinder and booster just fit. The headers had to be "tweaked" slightly to allow for socket clearance to plugs. Next step is to install AOD trans. The trans has been rebuilt with the good AOD-E stuff, solid input shaft, Alto clutch pack and Lentech valve body.
  10. Rich, car is really looking great! You may have had the question in an earlier post, but can you give the spec's on wheels and tires, including backspacing or offset?
  11. Anybody running 18x9 on the rear? If so, what size tires are you using.
  12. I feel your pain. Funny how that works. My C6 was supposed to be rebuilt. Found out that all the PO did was to change the torque converter.
  13. Doors have small areas of rust at bottom corners. Also some (small) dents. I will post pic's tomorrow.

  15. I used the Lizard Skin in the floor and roof. I agree with Rich. It does take a few days to completely dry. I was looking to take the resonance out of the sheet metal and it does that. Also spayed it on the backside if the aprons because those were fabbed. Used the ceramic on the inside floor. Can't speak to using it on the underside.
  16. Made more progress today. Engine installed. Good clearance between March system and fans. The air filter element is artificially high - the dropped base wont fit carb. May have to fab something to make it work.
  17. CPH. Good to see you on the site. How's the car??
  18. Yeah, it's a great feeling to see things coming together. Fitting the parts initially is a lot of work, but seeing the parts finally on is really feels good. Installed Scott Drake 22 gal stainless tank. Good product. Finished well.
  19. Thanks! Not in the same category as your work, but I may contact you for parts/pieces when I get to the interior......
