Cantedvalve 128 Report post Posted October 10, 2018 I am going with a somewhat darker scheme on my car. It isnt radical, but definitely should be noticeable - basically all the light silver on the grille, trim, bezels, etc. is going to a darker charcoal metallic. One thing I am looking into is tinting the tail light lenses. Has anyone done this or have pictures of Classic Mustangs that have received this treatment? RogerC 136 Report post Posted October 11, 2018 I would just like taillight lenses without the stainless trim and without the ridge on the lens for the 3 stainless pieces.
barnett468 418 Report post Posted October 12, 2018 do you mean coloring the red plastic?
Cantedvalve 128 Report post Posted October 12, 2018 Yeah. I think I am going to table this until I have the car running again
Vicfreg 773 Report post Posted October 20, 2018 I am also considering tinting my red plastic taillight lenses. My car will have no chrome or stainless trim anywhere. It has all been powdercoated. I took my taillight metal bezels and media blasted and powder coated them. I have some VHT tint, I have not tried it yet.... https://www.ebay.com/p/VHT-NiteShade-Black-out-Tail-Light-Smoke-Tint-Spray/509265290?iid=390874511448&chn=ps
Cantedvalve 128 Report post Posted October 21, 2018 I am still considering it, but it is easy to do later. Just pop the bucket off and grab the lense. Mine has a clear diffuser that I’d have to take off first.
