Spammers Been Busy Today

Hey Bob,

There probably aren't many new "real" people signing up everyday. Is there a way to maybe manually approve new people that sign up? I have a wordpress site and nobody gets through with a new account unless I or one one my admins approves it.

 

It seemed like spam was low on our site when the Russians were focused on the presidential election. And now that it's over.....they are back bothering us again.

Boy, just for $hits and giggles, maybe that one should stay.

 

I don't approve new members, but sometimes when I click on View New Content, the new members list shows up. When their names or lack of any personal info make me believe they're a spam account I flag them as spammers.

Yeah, we should probably implement some type of approval process but only the admin's can do that, not moderators - and that means more work for the admins, which I don't wish upon them. Plus, new members get upset if they're not approved right away, so that's another issue.

 

It seems that Ben (bswor) is the only admin that still visits regularly and I don't think he even owns a Mustang any more :)

 

So be patient and we'll just keep swatting the critters as they turn up..

I love how the spammers take the time to "like" all my comments. I wish there was a way I could thank them........with a swift kick in the ass by a size 12 boot (steel toe)!
