mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted August 16, 2016 Sprayed 3 coats of PPG polyester primer. Next I'll let it set for a few weeks then block it and do a final prime with PPG NCP 271 primer. I like to let all my primers dry for several weeks before I paint them.

mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted August 24, 2016 The aftermarket bumper brackets were off a mile. Going to tuck the bumper in a lot closer to the fenders. 1 69Mustang16 reacted to this

RPM 1,190 Report post Posted August 25, 2016 So Rich, is a fiberglas or cf front bumper in the works? Looks like you'll have a bumper to make a mold.
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted August 25, 2016 Yes, we talked about today and decided since we spent this much time on it, we might as well make one. This car will still have the steel one though. I did the same thing on the front bumper of our 66 we're working on. 3 AMBISBUTS, unlinihada and quoriSer reacted to this
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted September 8, 2016 Removed the front bumper and sent it off to be dechromed. A lot of guys just grind it off and go from there, but I like it down to bare steel then have it powder coated then do my body work over that. 1 69Mustang16 reacted to this
Dalpilot 1 Report post Posted September 22, 2016 Nice work. Might have to look into the bumpers.

mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted October 9, 2016 Just got the front bumper back from the chrome shop and sent it out right away to be powder coated in black. Next I'll do the mud work on it and get it in Epoxy primer. 1 69Mustang16 reacted to this

Next I'll do the mud work on it and get it in Epoxy primer. I am so cornfused. You chromed the bumper, then had it powder coated, then did body work to it (mud work), then primed it? For what, a painted finish? I'm just an 'ol city boy, Luci you got some splainin' to do. Help me out here Rich.
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted October 18, 2016 We sent the bumper off to have it dechromed not chromed. Then had it powdered coated, I prefer doing it that way instead of just applying Epoxy primer over the bare steel. Make sense ?
RPM 1,190 Report post Posted October 19, 2016 Yes, thank you. If I'd have gone back a few posts I'd have seen that. Merci beaucoup!
