STL. Mark 11 Report post Posted October 9, 2015 On the clock panel there is a Mach 1 emblem that I need to replace. Can anyone tell me if this is just glued on? I want to replace it. Thanks!
69RavenConv 286 Report post Posted October 9, 2015 There are 3 pins on the back that have small speed nuts on them. The best way is to remove the nuts from the back of the dash, but If you're careful and protect the wood grain surface, you can usually gently pry them off with a screwdriver. STL. Mark 11 Report post Posted October 9, 2015 Thanks! I suspected they were not glued on back in the day.
Midlife 814 Report post Posted October 10, 2015 Try using dental floss to get behind the emblem and pulling out. Works great on fender emblems with those nasty little barrel nuts.
Guillaume69 150 Report post Posted October 10, 2015 I personally avoid "screwdriver ops" when it comes to removing emblems on my car. Dental floss is good to cut old sticky stuff they used to put behind some emblems (like running horse medallions on 1/4 panels). I also use plastic (Teflon?) made prying tools, the ones designed for interior trim removal on modern cars. G
RPM 1,190 Report post Posted October 13, 2015 Mine were a pain in the a$$ with the clock bezel removed! I can't imagine mine coming out from the front.
STL. Mark 11 Report post Posted October 13, 2015 Thanks. I will be trying it later today. RPM I suspect mine will be a pain too.
