Fender Extension Assembly Driver Side

Recommended Posts

My fender extension assembly where the high beam headlight bucket goes is cracked.  Is there any kind of epoxy that would work to repair this? I think it is pot metal? The repair would not be seen from the outside of the car. Thanks

Here's an old thread you can reference, this should do the trick. http://1969stang.com/forum/index.php?/topic/47174-headlight-bucket-repair/

You can also call up a thread we have about pot metal repair which is what this part is made of, it calls for welding with aluminum rod, not as DIY for everyone but an option for some.

I also heard the JB weld is great for repairing this metal if you strip it down bare.  I think I would use the "hours to cure" JB weld instead of the steel stick.  Only reason is I think it will flow further into your crack and provide a better patch.

Please post pics of your repair if you do one.  I'd be interested to see that.
