maciek 10 Report post Posted October 21, 2014 Hi guys I have 1969 mustang and I have a question is it possible to fit the engine, transmission and drivetrain from 1995 gt 4.6v8?
SM69Mach 68 Report post Posted October 21, 2014 It will fit, but you have to do some work to the shock towers to get it to work. There are notching kits and removal kits. Either way new front suspension will be in order. Do some searching around as there are a lot of options to do this.
Rsanter 152 Report post Posted October 21, 2014 Yes, you have to trim the towers or remove them. I think remove is better in some ways but more expensive. I just helped a friend put a new coyote engine in his 70 Bob
Pakrat 1,043 Report post Posted October 21, 2014 Anything is possible with time, money and some serious shock tower surgery. We have several project threads doing the more modern 4.6 and coyote motors. We even have one member going LS1. Here's a couple form the top of a quick search I did, lots more if you have the time to look and go thru them. Welcome BTW. http://www.1969stang.com/mustang/forum/showthread.php?t=15488 http://www.1969stang.com/mustang/forum/showthread.php?t=14157
70fastbak 16 Report post Posted October 21, 2014 We even have one member going LS1. LSX swaps are getting real popular around here. There are quite a few older 5oh stangs running around here with 5.3 truck motors, bone stock with turbos making some impressive power. Its impressive how much boost a stock 5.3 will make. That's hard for a ford guy to say but there...I said it, lol.
