Spider69 16 Report post Posted August 20, 2013 Hi, I have a mach 1 69, but I don't know which kind of gearbox is installed. In fact initially this car was sold with a manual gearbox but one of the previous owner changed for an automatic gearbox. On the documents I have got with the car I can see information about FMX, C4 and C6!!! How can I be sure which kind of gearbox is installed? Thanks for your help. Brian Conway 264 Report post Posted August 20, 2013 To get started you will need to get all the numbers off the transmission case and the tail shaft assembly. Brian
FrozenMonkey 12 Report post Posted August 20, 2013 A picture of the transmission oil pan will clear it up in seconds.
RPM 1,190 Report post Posted August 21, 2013 A pic, engine, tranny numbers would help. A C6 is one piece aluminum, C4 is three piece alum, and FMX is three piece with alum bell housing and tail and cast iron center section. Bob
