69volunteer 84 Report post Posted January 30, 2012 I made a rookie mistake and didnt document all the parts on my rear drum brakes when I disassembled. In the spring kit that I got, there is a small washer that is wavy (not flat). Where does this go?
frankenstang 11 Report post Posted January 30, 2012 I just did that. It is part of the parking brake. When the pin for the parking brake goes through the brake pad, that washer and the U-clip are what's used to retain it. If you search my post someone one linked me a diagram, was really helpful. Mike65 476 Report post Posted January 30, 2012 I found the post that had the link to the pics for the drum brake parts you want to know where they go. The post is titled drum brake rebuild, where do these parts go?. I posted on it to get it to the first page for you.
69volunteer 84 Report post Posted January 30, 2012 Thanks Mike & Frankenstang....looks like that washer goes between the brake pad and the clip to hold the parking brake lever on. I'll try that tonight.
