Engine swap to 351w for 69 mustang

I'm currently building 351w, and I was wondering in any suggestions or guidance on the matter mainly looking for what motor mounts that are good to use, upgrades and suspension.

It's a plan for:

a street/strip swap from 250 i6 to 351w

Trans: TKO600

Rear end I was thinking for a 9"

Total Control Products has some really nice motor mounts as well as suspension gear. What transmission are you using? Bruce

Going to end up using a TKO600 probably.

consider the ron morris (or similar) 1/2" drop mounts. it will help your engine angle a little bit if you are planning to install a TKO. be aware they may add some vibration and create other clearance issues.

Ahhh okay, I've heard alot about the HP Motorsport 3/4 drop mounts but it seems you can't find those anymore. I'll have to look into these ron morris mounts, Any good places to look for quality mounts?

While your searching for engine mounts, Do not forget that you are going to need the V8 frame mounts also.

If I remember correctly with the TCP and RM mounts you don't need the lower frame portion as it is part of their system already. Bruce

You can make your own motor mounts if you have the spare time and simple tools, see the link in my sig below

I have looked at both the TCP and Ron Morris motor mounts. If you don't need the 1/2" drop the TCP mounts look better. In my opinion the adjustability with all of the slotted bolts holes in the Ron Morris mounts provide too many places for things to move.

I have the small block frame mounts if you want to go that route.
