rchappelear 28 Report post Posted September 14, 2009 So after my last post about how to fix the faded lost chrome around the deluxe instrument panels. I have found a guy who is selling a Reproduction Deluxe Instrument panel. Here is the link, and sounds like they are working on doing a Clock area one shortly as well. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110431401965&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fmotors.shop.ebay.com%3A80%2F__%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp4712.m39.l1313%26_nkw%3D110431401965%26_sacat%3D%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1#ht_500wt_1182 Ryan

69RestoRod 10 Report post Posted September 14, 2009 I kinda like the way the bezel looks in black before the woodgrain is applied. Handgard. Do a search on cleaning the clocks. Its the most common thing that stops these clocks.
Handegard 10 Report post Posted September 14, 2009 Handgard. Do a search on cleaning the clocks. Its the most common thing that stops these clocks. I searched for cleaning clock and turned up two results, a thread I mentioned the clock not working in long ago, and this thread ;) The first thread had some useful stuff however, I will try and fix it sometime... 69RestoRod 10 Report post Posted September 14, 2009 Clock repair may have been a better term. But you can use 80's quartz clocks as a replacement to get the original working. Or get a less desirable one and swap the gears. http://www.1969stang.com/mustang/forum/showthread.php?t=59 http://www.mustangmonthly.com/techarticles/vintage_ford_mustang_clocks_repair_fix/index.html

Pakrat 1,043 Report post Posted September 14, 2009 I don't know much about the deluxe stuff but aren't the inner rings supposed to be argent and only the outer rings chrome if it is truly to be "correct"??????? I was also surprised to see the black plastic without the woodgrain, I thought the originals were metal?

The steering column was slightly thicker because of the column mounted key system.

The bezel itself is plastic; however, the woodgrain piece is metal.
