Well the same goes over here if you want an Falcon XA-XC coupe! I'd been looking for 2 years and seeing cars going for $16000 USD that sell in Oz for $7-8000 AUD. I actually found a deal, a nice 76 XB (XC transition car) but it was in Texas, it was actually in good shape, and got him talked down to $15k USD. I never did see the car since the owner sold it to somebody else even after I gave him a $1000 deposit. I have friends in Brisbane saying the car was good from the pictures, although they also said they could probably find a better car for less but I'd have to wait.

I don't think that you realise, most XA-XC coupe owners, are just trying to get a car that looks similar to a 71-75 Mustang fastback. That's why I used to want one when I was young. If you still want one let me know. Might be able to find a rolling shell or a 90% complete in our trading post.

Due to the soaring petrol prices, V8 hobby cars are starting to flood the market.

You have to understand that we find it funny that you guys covet our rather common Mustangs while we covet your (apparently) common XA-XC coupes. See, we're all Mad Max/Road Warrior junkies. The image that goes with those cars is amazingly fierce and overpowering here in the US. I have to say I also find it ironic that you guys covet even our lower performance Mustangs when you guys were blessed with Falcon GTs, Cortinas, Charger RTs, Holdens S4, HSV, Monaros, GTSs, GTRs, Escort RS, and whole sea of other way cool hyper-performance cars we've barely glimpsed here. Sigh... yours is the promised land and ours is too much the federally mandated, emissions controlled, 55 mph, performance blackhole of the planet. BTW, I'd love a nice hachi-roku if you know someone who's got one laying around.

What the F$%^ is a hachi-roku. I actually grew up around aussie muscle cars. XY-GTs', XR-GTs', XA-XC 351 coupes and sedans, HQ GTS Monaros' coupes and sedans, 1 Vitamin C E49 Charger(amazing car and performance for a 3-speed), XD & XE 351s.

I actually owned at one stage or another

A hand me down '66 Cortina 4Dr, Dad used to own a 2Dr GT.

Several Datsun 200B SSS, 2ltr RWdrive LSD IRS, awsome rally car

'80 Falcon with 351, top loader. Kicked a several performance cars whilst running on 5 cylinders, on gas and whith a hole in the extractor pipe. Nobody woul run it after I put in dual 2&1/4" exhaust, and it gained the name 'thunderbox' from friends due to the noice polution it created.

Currently own

'98 Lancer, 2ltr turbo EVO engine with 165kw at the front wheel capable of 12s' (this car breaks traction in fourth at 140Kms/hr (approx 90miles/hr). Its destroyed WRX's, Skylines, and GTOs'. Most of the time I pass them wheelspinning.

ZX-7R Ninja

And obviously the Mach I which is still untouched.

That's too funny, because I'm seriously considering finding a 71-73 Mustang fastback and giving it a custom front and rear spoiler, customize a 4-headlight grille, and painting it like an XC Cobra!

If I found an XB or XC coupe in as good a shape as my car, I'd trade my car for it in a heartbeat.

I am 34 now, married for almost 10 years and have two kids. I bought the 69 fastback I have now, a little over a year ago.

My parents bought me a 69 fastback when I was 15, which I drove throughout high school and for about 5 years after. At 18 I also bought an 84 5.0. I had to sell the 69 because of financial problems, and totalled the 84 in an accident.

The 69 fastback I have now, is almost exactly like the one I drove in high school, same yellow. Of course, this one is updated with new technology that wasn't available in the early 90's.

Not sure if it'll happen. Send me pics of your car, inside out, engine etc. Give me the specs. Tell me how much you'd want for it. I'll try find a buyer down here, shouldn't be too hard to sell.

At the same time, I'll start looking around for an XA-XC Falcon. Just tell me what sort of condition body wise, engine preference and drive train etc.

We might start doing our own swap the American-Aussie muscle 'club'. Not interested in making a profit out of it. Just a car enthusisast helping another.

You're killing me with that stuff... I'll admit that I've had fun with my share of American muscle and performance cars over the years, but the feds usually killed all the good stuff before it got too good.

BTW, "hachi-roku" is Japanese for 8-6, as in a Toyota AE86 Trueno or Levin (Corolla GTS here in the US) with the 4AGE dohc, 5 speed, LSD, etc... great drift cars. Anyway, I understand that you guys got the really great versions and all the bonus TRD gear too. Fun cars, and I'm still looking for a decent one here...

I am 47 and new to this site. I have owned 3 mustangs, a 71. 64 ½, & now a 69. I love this one it’s so much fun to drive, I purchased it 10 years and have continued to improve it each year. I added tilt steering, factory tach, console, 15 inch tires with magnum 500’s, scat buckets seats, and front disc brakes. I have restored the fold down seat and the AC. Now working to up grade the stereo and looking to put a 9 inch rear under it. Look forward to the site as I continue to work on this 1969 mustang.

35,married,2 kids,a Greyhound,a cat,and a mortgage. I'm currently a paramedic for the past 16 years and I am the owner of a water damage restoration and cleaning company. My daily ride is a 04 Jaguar XJR (supercharged 400 hp) , and Expedition, and a 02 E-450 Super duty box truck with a powerstroke diesel and a stage 1 chip. (I had to mess with the truck too). I've owned my 69 coupe for 15 years, and I still have the Kool Aid grin when I drive it.

We're a quite diverse mob in this forum. I was expecting a double up on at least carrers. Seems like all walks of life are destined to own a '69 or '70 at some stage of their life. Can't argue with that.

I'm 42. My 1st car at age 16 was a 69 convertible (grandma's car). She gave it to me in 1982 with 40k miles. Should have held onto that! Bought a 69 mach1 351W when I was 18. Loved that car. Wish I would have kept it! Twice the fool....

Bought a 89 5.0 LX. Was fun but toasted the custom automatic at 85k - was not a great car but looked cool at the time.

Bought my current Mach1 in April of 05. This one is the best - and getting better. Currently stroking the engine to a 408C beast.... This one I will keep. Cost me much more than my 1st one.... Should be back on the road by April 06. Have to do sub frames to keep it straight with the expected HP coming (520-530 at the crank).

Plan to freshen the interior this spring, add 70 window glass and regulators, new dash, stereo and the JME gauges. New suspension, 4 wheel disc, flaming river rack and pinion and 5 speed Tremec next winter. Cha Ching$$$$....
