  3. I have seen body guys to wonders what I thought is a total loss, thats going to be a nice car when you get done, keep up the progress.
  4. one thing I havent heard anyone say which I was told on mine that after you soda blast you need to wash the car down very well with vinigar and water solution to neutralize the backing soda or it will eat at the car then let it dry and then use the epoxy primer that way the whole car does not rust while your doing your body work, just my 2 cents its propably worth exactly what you paid for it!!
  5. Im reading all this with a tear in my eye, I think most of us can relate, most of us have that buddy that helps us work on our cars with us, and have brother and sisters, any of which would be a loss, I always try and put myself in someone elses shoes, I feel your pain, my prayers are with you, and you will see them in a better place, life is very short here in this world!!
  6. had a little progress not much got the jams painted and a few odds and ends
  7. what keeps coming to mind on this topic is in the movie gran-torino with clint eastwood when he says I put the column in that car on the assembly line, how cool would it be to find a retired ford guy that it was his job to put on the decals , he could probably tell you everything you wanted to know about your question
  8. I saw that to and was glad to hear it , I dont mind the high end cars at all as long as they are the classics, I do like the 5.0 mustangs but thats not why I subsribed to that mag. I would have got the 5.0 if thats all I wanted to see. looking forward to the new mag.

  12. hey guys thanks for the encouragement I kind of hit a snag with the hood I used a aftermarket one and did the body work to it and had it flawless painted the underside cut our the wiring holes for the scoop and then shut it and nothing but waves in the top, so we tried another aftermarket hood from a different company and got it straight as an arrow then pulled it out in the sun from being cold and it warped, so 3rd hood is a ford tooling hood that is on the car now with body work being done and the cut out for scoop ,,, so it got behind sched. and dont ever use a aftermarket hood for your car. I hope to have it done realisticly by next year hopefully next summer, depends on cash man this is an expensive hobby, but worth doing. ill keep the pics coming as I get more thanks guys
  13. welcome to the site I feel more at home here than some of the other sites because we all have the same cars of interest, as far as your car is concerned it really depends on your budget and what your going to do with it , I will say this if you want a really nice car good paint nice driveline I have found its better to do it once and do it right the first time, like you said you already have painted it now it needs it again, but if you just want it up and running and plan to drive it for a while then do just that i wouldnt spend alot of money to do it half way if that makes sense good luck and keep the pics coming !!
