  1. So it can be removed. Easier to work on. Can get the frame powder coated, and paint the body separably.
  2. M12 high strength bolts in 10 positions. 6 of them are 3/16" plates that will be welded to the roll cage. 2 are "L' plates attached near the fire wall. Last the fire wall will be reinforced and attached to down bars from the fire wall to near the core support.
  3. 50" off the deck. Guess you could call it a GT50.
  4. Well it fits. Needs some adjustments, but good so far...
  5. Torque boxes out. Found about 8 lbs of dirt, a dead mouse, and a large hornets nest inside!
  6. Just the torque boxes left to cut. It will be nice to start with a clean slate.
  7. Getting busy with the plasma cutter...
  8. I hate it when your front end falls off...
  9. 6 point. It is what will tie the body to the frame.
  10. Some screw holes < 0.25" 6 or seven of them.
  11. Good question. The answer is yes. They will be reinforced with gussets and fish plates. I will be doing that after mock up is finished. In addition, I am using 2x4 box tubing, not 2x3, which gives extra strength.
  12. Thanks. Engine mounts have large urethane bushings. In addition, the headers will be supported with a bracket to help with the turbo weight, which was a mistake I had in Stage 1. Headers leaked like a sieve. The entire exhaust is bushed, but held tight enough not to bang on the frame hole. I may use a flex pipe on the turbo connection since there will be some interesting pluming from the turbo outlet to the main exhaust. Stay tuned. I am about to cut out all the unibody frame, firewall, and floor. Also, the turbos will need to be removed to pull the transmission.
  13. I have a lower dash I am parting with. It is the metal piece. Has some non standard holes, but can be fixed. I will post a picture soon. PM me if you are interested.
  14. Change of heart on the turbo position. Should keep underhood temps down. Water to air intercooler should sit right above bell housing. We will see.
  15. Deep breath. Pick a place to start, and get to cutting back to good steel. Replace and move to the next. I know how you feel.
  16. I know what it is like starting from a pile of crap. Stick with it.
