  3. Don't think I posted much of my progress but here goes. Go quite a few things accomplished today. I did play around with some leading too, came out pretty good.
  4. You can find used 1/4 extensions on ebay. Not sure how good they are but they are on there from time to time.
  5. Id use Eastwood's rust encapsulator. It says right on the can it can be top coated with pretty much anything. Put a decent epoxy on top. DP epoxy is what I use.
  6. Looks good Dave. I think I will go for lead then a smear of extreme rage.
  7. Is that the bracket for the rear interior panels. I can check once I get home.
  8. Just got done finishing up full quarters on my car. Just curious what you guys have used to fill the welded seam up on the sail panel. Ive used lead in the past but just curious what else you guys have used and had good results with. I don't want to just fill it with regular filler.
  9. I was under the impression that they used brazing to 'tack' some areas in place to hold it in position then it got spot welded.
  10. Ah...youll be fine. Ive put skins on too but my inner shells were rotted out too that's why I went with complete doors. Florida car...gotta love the sea air.
  11. So would those be the same backspacing as the AFS 10.5" mach 1 rims. Now im thinking I want to go with the 10.5. Looks really good, what size tires are you running? I do have 2" lowering springs for my car not sure if that might change anything. I can roll my lip if needed.
  12. I was thinking on doing the same thing but I decided to just stick with original size wheel tubs. Just put in new outer wheel houses with new quarters so just wondering what I can get away with back there. Are the 9" deep dish ? I know the 10.5" are deep dish but I doubt that setup will go on a stock 70 wheel tub. Can you post up pics of your 9" mach 1's. Are they the AFS knock offs ?
  13. Are you running 245 on all corners?
  14. Car looks good with the mach 1's. Thanks for the pic.
  15. The rears are OK with no spacer? Can you squeeze the deep dish mach 1's on the rear or is that not happening with our cars.
  16. Does anybody know or anybody run 2003 17x8 mach 1 wheels on their 69/70. Just been offered a set at a reasonable price and as im doing a restomod (somewhat) not sure if I should jump on these.
  17. Ah...I see. Im having problems with my drivers door. I cant move my door far enough forward. Its ok but id like to see a bigger gap between door and quarter...lol
  18. Ive just replaced my doors and deck lid with dynacorn parts also. Not too bad, im pleased overall. Cant expect too much from aftermarket parts. I work in a restoration shop and do this for a living so gapping doors is part of my job. The gaps really are not that bad but im very picky so I will probably gap the doors to my liking.
  19. That's what I have too, having problems with the drivers door. Havent got around to the passenger door yet. Did your door gaps turn out ok ?
  20. Hey Dave, Yes those were the pieces I was talking about. Manley huh...mmmmm probably kevins Klassic cars...my old place of work in cannon falls, Minnesota. Say... did you use new doors for your car?
  21. Thanks, I was just checking your build pics out, looks great. Seems like im heading down the same road as you with the sheet metal on my car. Looks like you did a cowl, one piece floor, firewall. Ill be doing all those after I get this rear completed. Once again, great work, looks really good. Al
