Worked on the car some more today. Not only does it roll but now it steers! Installed the tilt column and wheel I rebuilt. Also the tie rods from the CJ Pony kit and the rebuilt box from Chockostang. The hardest part so far has been finding the right bolts! I bought two bolt kits but they aren't really very complete. Tomorrow we should have the doors hung and it will really look like a car!

Hood was painted with Hot Rod Black using the stencil the vendors sell. Very nice! Dried satin.

ONto the rotisserie to have the bottom stripped and painted red oxide. Progress! Shop is focusing on my car until it's finished so the next few weeks should see some real progress. I've actually been very pleased the cars been at the shop a while, it's given me a lot of time to find, buy, upgrade, and sell off extra parts I didn't need. You can't rush these projects or they can really overwhelm you.

Hello all, I wanted to re-introduce myself now that I'm back with a new project. Last month I picked up a 1970 Mach 1 that was a little rough, but looked like it had an interesting history. It's a Grabber Orange 'DSO 89' car, loaded with options including shaker hood, tach, tilt, am/fm, deluxe seat belts, fold-down, AC, PS, PDB, intermittent wipers, convenience group, bumper guards, and a few others. The car was ordered new by a Ford executive, and delivered to Ford Headquarters. The car itself has been sitting untouched for 20 years waiting for a new owner to rescue it. The car's pretty straight, but still needs a lot of work and parts. I'm going for an 'as-delivered' look, but will stop short of concourse, and I may even put a T5 in there since I'm partial to manual shift cars. Thanks for reading my long post, I'll try and keep the thread updated as I go.

Here's some photos of the car:

I rebuilt my original AC box in my '69 Mustang Mach 1 a few years ago, it worked ok with the sanden conversion. I have a '70 Corvette now that I put the vintage air gen iv kit in. It works amazing and I had it installed in just a few hours with almost no modifications to the car. When I pulled the AC box from my '70 Mach 1, I sold it on the forums here because I plan to put vintage air in my '70. The car is not "strictly hot rod" and looks mostly stock. Unless you really know what you're looking at, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. It uses the stock controls / vents. And on a hot/cold day, you'll be glad you have it. Just wanted to give a different opinion. I also know a dealer that sells it for a pretty fair price (less than you can get it for on eBay), pm me if you want his contact info.
