  1. Out of curiosity what were the times/speeds on the drag slips?
  2. Thank you. I'll probably wait a few days and then go for it and let you know how it fits.
  3. Hey all, I am in the market for completely redoing all the weather stripping on my 69 coupe. So far what I've found as the best offer comes from Laurel Mountain Mustang. http://www.laurelmountainmustang.com/products/69-coupe-weatherstrip-kit-1?gclid=CPeQlL_ns78CFfHm7Aod3HEARA I was curious if anyone has any experience with this kit or if there is a better option. I also wanted to make sure this kit contains every piece I will need (glue not included). Your help is much appreciated.
  4. Looks almost exactly like my rear pan. I cut mine in the same spot just need to finish trimming the replacement. These things always take me longer than expected. Good work! Nothing like knowing you aren't going to fall through your car floor getting in.
  5. Computer at home has been acting up so I haven't been able to post any pictures, or get on here much. Cut out both rusty floors already and welding new ones in tomorrow. After that I need to get some bedliner for the inside. Any suggestions? I was thinking Lizard skin but don't really want to have to buy the special paint gun. Maybe some roll on bedliner?
  6. MTF, any progress on the headliner? I'm guessing it took them longer than the original week to get a mold?
  7. If he doesn't want the shroud I'll take pending measurement of my radiator. Pretty sure it's 20" though. Also sent you a PM
  8. +1 Mine was not connected to anything either.
  9. I'll try and check for you when I get home. Not sure I have that same setup though. Can't recall seeing the box there on my car.
  10. Cut out some rust floor the other day. I'll try and get some pictures.
  11. YAY! If I was not so far away you could use my car for free. I will be purchasing this when it becomes available. Thank you!
  12. Here are the pictures. Been busy with work since school is done. First picture is of the door in the process of stripping the paint where I found more bondo.:censored: But thankfully it shouldn't be a bad dent to get out minus having to remove the skin. For now it will stay as I am going to try and identify all the body work then start working on it. Second picture is the holes in the door which were covered by bondo. Again, need a welder. Third is some slight rust in the bottom corner and finally the door as a whole. I also got the Ebrake back functioning. I need to fix the handle as it is in an awkward position to pull.
  13. Done with school. Had time yesterday (FINALLY) and got a decent amount of work done. I will post pictures later. Cleaned out the inside pretty good. Changed the oil and fired her up. Got passenger door stripped and primed. The door has a few holes in it which were filled with bondo as well as a decent dent. I got some graduation money so maybe I'll do the irresponsible thing and buy a welder rather than pay off some debt. :D Pictures to come!
  14. 2 BOSS 429 Ford Torinos. That's what I was thinking of.
  15. It's your car do what ever you want! If you ever needed to remove the bottom portion again though you might have to buy a new one.
  16. Found this is phoenix. Seems like a good deal if all the numbers really match. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/cto/4442759126.html Also found this... didn't they only make 2 of the 69 Torinos with 429 engines? . . . So this is a 1 of 2 car? Don't think I believe it. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/cto/4454902974.html
  17. Again not much progress. Started striping the paint from the passenger door. One little rust spot I didn't see in the corner but it's just barely starting to come through. I'll try and get the door done and some pictures up later. School will be done next week!
  18. I could just be crazy but it looks higher. I know there is someone else using that intake. Maybe TheEvilTwin, which has a 460. I could just be making weird connections. Looks good though and getting the engine together is definitely an accomplishment.
  19. What intake is that? the carb looks so high on the motor to me and it doesn't look like you have a spacer either. Are you doing ram air with the hole in the hood?
  20. I'm 23 years old and bought my first 1969 mustang last year. I think you captured how it makes me feel and I cannot wait to get it out on the road. It makes me feel bad. The thrill of being pushed back into your seat is not comparable to many other things. It's like your stomach dropping from a roller coaster, or jumping out of a plane. I love it. Good article man and congrats on the beautiful mustang.
  21. Agreed. I hope to can manage to keep it but there are things that are more important sometimes. Not often, but sometimes. Looks really great man I'm sure if you do end up selling you'll get a pretty penny.
  22. If you're going to have to sell it, drive it like you stole it! Looks like a lot of nice work there. I'm sure that things has some go. A whole lot of go. Did you do the work yourself?
  23. Thanks got it off. Anyone have any special tricks from cleaning the trim? I was just going to take it to work and use the buffing wheel. It's only pitted a little on the back end so I'll maybe get it redone when it gets worse or when it is noticeable.
  24. From what I could see trying to pull it away it almost looked like the same style clips used for some of the front trim that slides in the grooves but I could not get a good look. Where would I find the screw to unscrew them? They are not on the outside of the trim, or in the inside of the fender/quarter.
