  4. The difference is in the stalk for the mirror adjustment inside the car. Early version had a right angled stalk, later version is straight. They locate in the door panel on cars with deluxe trim, but you can make them fit standard trim by putting a hole through the panel
  5. Hi Guys, visit here most days and pick up lots of tips and information for my car. Thanks to the regulars for keeping the place full of good info. I'm guessing this is a long shot, but does anyone have an idea where to source a pair of tidy 70 Delux Door Panels. Looked at new, but when you need to buy all the trim, cups and inserts as well as the main panels and ship them to the bottom of the world, it gets $$$$. Currently my car has standard door panels.
  6. Yes you do!!! Will they be ready by Friday?
  7. I removed the factory lenses when I installed the new gauges
  8. I have them in my 70 and I am pretty happy with the final result apart from 3 things. 1, The installation and mounting procedure could be better. Mounting system was not very effective and i needed to manufacture spacers to fit under the srews. I ran into clearance issues with the vent behind the right hand guage as my car had A/C and the centre vent. Modified the pipe to suit. 2, The guages are not that easy to see during the day due to reflection/glare on the lenses. The indicators halo effect is not visible at all during the day. 3, My car runs 190-200 most of the time which is approx 3/4 on the scale, I would have been happier if 200 was the middle of the scale so at first glance it didnt appear to be running too hot.
  9. I went for Hedman shorties on my 70 302 C4 combo because I didnt want to use the drop bracket. Works well, did not notice any power or drivability loss.
  10. I have the 67 series New Vintage in my 70 fastback. I had a few issues getting everything running correctly, and Mark sent replacement gauges to make sure i was happy. The mounting system works OK, but is awkward to get the gauges sitting centred and aligned. The indicator Halo effect is hard to see during the day and the guages are hard to read in my car because of reflection on the glass lense's in the gauges. The fuel guage also swings up and down with the movement of the fuel, not sure how to overcome that one. I have not checked with Mark to see if that is just the way it works. One other minor issue is my car runs about 190-195 Deg most of the time, which is over the halfway mark on the scale. Not an issue really, but the first glance always looks like the car is running hot due to the scale that is used. I will post pics next time I take the car out.
  11. Thanks for the feedback. I already run shorties so that will be ok, already have some pump noise which I want to elimante, not increase!
  12. Been a while since any more rack feedback was posted. Any more updates on a good power rack set up?
  13. Have you cured your overheating problems? I have replaced or stripped and cleaned pretty much everything in the cooling system and slowly been chipping away at the hot running issue. The biggest single improvement was swapping the "54" jets which were factory fitted in my new Holley 570 street avenger to "64"s. Runs much better and never goes over 200F
  14. Are you sure its a 4150 Double pumper? See attached exploed view diagram, appears to be a Vac secondary carb with only two idle mixture screws. http://www.holley.com/data/TechService/Technical/4150%204160%20Exploded%20View.pdf
  15. Thanks Ash, might see it at the next C&C at Smales farm
  16. Hi Ash, Do you have the gold Mach 1 that I saw at Smales farm?

  19. Thanks guys. I have deleted the front ashtray in favour of the dual guage pod anyway. Has anyone got these on discount at the moment or is there likely to be any promotions coming up that anyone is aware of?
  20. Hi Guys, Looking to purchase a new centre console for my 70 Sportsroof. The Scott Drake one looks ok, and has a good review on CJP. 69-70 C9ZZ-6504536 It mentions that it does not come with console wiring or ash tray light.. Wiring should be easy, but where is the ash tray light that is mentioned? Cant find any information on this and there isnt one in the centre console I am replacing.
  21. I purchased the one from CJ's because my old one was already broken. Fits well so I am hapy with the outcome.
  22. Thanks J69302, I had spotted them at CJ's but they dont show them in stock.
  23. Some good information in here. Does anyone know who would have windsor thermostat housings in stock that have the threaded port in the top?
  24. I fitted Hedman shorties on my 302W 70 fastback because I didnt want to muck around with drop brackets etc. Had the headers and short front pipes HPC coated for appearance and longer life. The hedman long tube headers hit the rack ram boot.
  25. I had similar issues with my '70, plus various other electrical gremlims. I fixed most of them by adding a new earth strap from the bell housing to the body.
