I am going to go with something relatively close to M&M green, I think. lol
-
Good eye.... but not what I wanted to hear darn it! lol I love that color!
-
Saved this picture long ago and have no clue where I found it. Anyone know where I can find more info? Or at least the what color it is exactly?

Sweet....pics are excellent.

The roof line of a sportroof slopes down toward the rear, so I think the seat risers that are welded to the floor pan slope more toward the rear or are shorter overall to allow more head room. Fastback/sportroof seat risers are shorter than coupe risers.
-
Have the seat risers been replaced? Coupe risers are not the same as sportroof seat risers. I'm not sure if it is an overall height difference or a slope difference. Many coupe owners have used the sportroof risers to achieve a little more leg room. Maybe someone used the wrong ones in your car?

Patch panel, fender lower corner, outer lh/ rh
manley replied to Chelby-Ann's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
It's a pretty flat surface...why not just get some sheet metal and form it to fit the contour of the fender? You can flange it or try butt weld it in. I'm a total amateur and have done both methods. You are going to need some filler no matter what, so...? Maybe there is something I'm missing? -
Midlife can probably hook you up with something nice. He has a sub-forum at stangfix.com

Purchasing and installing hard brake lines
manley replied to six_sigma's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
If you don't have the tools already, it won't save you much money to make them yourself. So, if this is a one time thing, make sure you consider the overall cost. Saying that, I've bent my own and also bought preformed. I'll stick with buying the preformed lines. -
Got 'em. Only about 15 minutes away from my house! :)

I'm looking for a nice pair of original 69-70 doors. At the moment, I don't want re-skinned doors. I don't need glass, hinges, etc., just the shells. Let me know what you have, what you want, and where you are. I'm in SE Indiana. I would like to pay via Paypal. Send pics: 69machstang at gmail dot com

I noticed my fenders have the part code stenciled on, too.
-
I've seen the part numbers stenciled on as well. My car was missing the dual exhaust valance and the non-cutout replacement valance the PO used does not have the part code.
-
I'm replacing/have replaced pretty much all the same parts it looks like you are replacing... my method is different. I'm doing one side at a time and using the original panels to line up the new. Also, I am bolting the doors, fenders, deck lid, etc back on before I cut off my quarters so I can massage the fit of everything as I'm welding. Looks like you have a fun project ahead! Seriously, through all the aggravation, I constantly remind myself that these challenges need to remain FUN! Or else I would have recycled this thing a few times already. lol

Quarter/tail light corners ... these might be tough
manley replied to manley's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
Gotcha.... I will probably cut out the wheelhouses and then see how well I can clamp them to everything before cutting the quarter. This helps me figure out my plan on how I'm going to weld the pieces together, also. And I'll hopefully know what fitment problems I'll run into. I didn't see this problem coming with the quarter corners because I didn't realize how they should wrap around the contour of the tail light panel. Live and learn! It can all be fixed, though, no matter what happens. Thanks! -
Quarter/tail light corners ... these might be tough

Sounds like I made the right choice in how I fitted these then.... thanks BuckeyeDemon! Especially since I just finished welding the corners in. Now, which comes first, wheel houses or full quarter panels? It's going to feel so good to be done with panel replacement! -
Poppy Green! I wish my car was originally this color.

I've heard the inners are horrible. As long as it doesn't get too cold, I'll be finding out soon! -
Quarter/tail light corners ... these might be tough
manley posted a topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
I ran into my first major fit problem with reproduction parts... the corners that fit under the quarter panel extensions. At first glance they seem to fit well, but I didn't notice that they don't hug the contour of the tail light panel well... and once I get them looking good with the tail light panel, the holes for the extension studs don't line up well with those in the quarter panel. My thoughts for the moment: most of this won't be seen, fit it to the tail light panel for now, forget the 3 extension holes and use the extension to get the new quarter panel lined up well modifying the corner as necessary.... I have one tacked in place and am stopping for the night to think about things. If anyone else has replaced these, please throw your thoughts and experience at me! Not looking forward to the wheel houses I've read horror stories about... -
front fender apron measurements - please !
manley replied to stangnet33's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
Referring to the pic of the 70 several posts above, when I was doing my car, I remember having an entire inch of variation between 4 different unrestored cars for the measurement of "F". -
floors, seat pan, torque box questions
manley replied to 1969 coupe's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
You should be able to check the floor supports from under the car. The top of my torque boxes against the toe board was unpainted and ruined since the toe boards has rust holes in them. I'm guessing they didn't get painted before being installed and only the bottoms received any kind of protection. -
My first car was a 73 coupe with an inline 6. I can't count how many people asked if it was a Mach. Stick around here and a few other select sites long enough and you'll be the Mustang expert in your circle of friends in no time. :)

How to remove undercoating on splash shields...
manley replied to cobra460jet's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
Mine came off real easy by bending it some. Must have gotten lucky. Sounds like they used good stuff on yours! -
Oh crap... you're right... been so long since my car was together that I'm starting to forget important details. Damn.
