  1. right now it's a stock 69 grande coupe 302 4bbl edelbrock performer manifold, flowmaster exhaust kit the interior is wrecked... but i'm going to hold that off till last suspension - i'm thinking of one of the full kits - i dont mind the way it handles for the driving i do with it - but the rotten bushings and worn out parts need replaced front disc rear drum power brakes power steering exterior parts are in good shape minus some missing chrome and some bubbling on the doors
  2. Hey gang! I sold my Jeep CJ. I have 5K to play with for the Mustang. Now all you pros give me some advice to spend it! I really want an elimiantor hood - should i get the special hinges for the glass hood? My CJ had a fiberglass tub and regular doors, hood etc.. what are the mustang hoods like? I'm going to get all new weather stripping, I want a good all around suspension kit for sure, and I need to redo the interior, add a stereo... The engine and trans are in great shape for now.. so i'm thinking get the exterior done, then suspension/steering/brakes/ then interior and after another year or so i'll do the engine up all purdy like any thoughts from the guys and gals that have been down this road? I know i could spend well over 5K on any one of those groups.. but what suspension kits does everyone like? I'd like to just see what everyone else would do with the $$ i'll be posting some wanted ads for misc parts soon so keep your eyes peeled there if you've got some good stuff to get rid of. or send me some PM if you see something in what i've outlined Mustang aside - i'm pretty torn up over selling the CJ. I've had it for seven years, rebuilt nearly everything... I decided it was just a money pit after i Just Emptied Every Pocket time and time again.. but man it was so pretty..
  3. http://s928.photobucket.com/albums/ad130/zach_coss/mustang%20parts/ here are a few pics of some work that was done along the inner lip. let me know if anyone is interested, want to make an offer etc.. im just going to hang it on the wall of my garage if nobody buys it..
  4. Parts needed for a 69 mustang coupe i'm in Greensburg PA - travel to Marietta Ohio and Warren Ohio frequently so i can pick stuff up if needed. passenger door passenger fender lower front valence I need the stainless steel strip that goes below the windshield I need the Driver Side drip molding trim and quarter window trim I'd like two of the quarter emblems from a fast back - the ones that match the 69 twist on gas cap boss style hood scoop. Let me know what you've got - send pics to zach.cossATgmailDOTcom cheers - Z
  5. awesome! thanks.. i saw something in my google searching with new TMI panels that have brushed aluminum inserts - they're listed for the 69 but i haven't seen one yet.. anyone have a link to their catalog or anything - the main company site doesn't have it.
  6. Does anyone make a new deluxe door panel with provision for speakers? my doors have the hole for speakers, my ratty panels have clean holes - but none of the replacement panels i see mention it? anyone have a source for them? who has some experience with interior kits? who offers the best bang for the buck?
  7. I'm about 25 miles east of Pittsburgh - my inlaws live in Warren OH. might be out that way for Turkey Day
  8. anyone looking for a plain jane hood - I.E. no scoop. let me know if you are, and you would like pics - $300 OBO
  9. very cool. that's what i plan on doing with mine - how did you get the wood grain off the part? i did the clock side and the door panels with scrapers, heat guns, various chemicals.. nothing seemed to really work without dubious amounts of elbow grease...

  11. I dont recommend getting too excited about the frost fighter kit. - i had one in a CJ hardtop...didn't hold up too well..i think i only got two seasons out of it.. those two seasons it did work really well though! maybe i didn't prep well enough because the elements started peeling and corroding quickly.
  12. I've been looking through the search.. not finding exactly what i'm needing.. I was looking through the NPD catalog the other day... came across a picture of my black finned Ford Motorsports Valve covers - it specified them for 86- 90 something i think 302...YIKES do i have an 80's block? so i started looking for id numbers - found the one on the distributor and 'googled' it - mustang monthly says its the Boss distributors have C80F-12131-A ....i've not got a boss.. How many parts across how many years are bolt on swappable? I know with Jeep parts from 46-86 can be swapped around... could i still have a 60's block and have the 80's valve covers? is that number only for boss distributors? I haven't looked at the block code yet.... before i jack the thing up and pull the starter i figured you guys would be able to clear my mind a bit.
  13. it's a San Jose car... it may indeed have a taste for burritos ...:euro: thanks for the input folks- i'll try cinching down that hose at the thermostat housing and checking the fluids and hit back if the issue persists. Rad cap is new, oil and coolant don't look tainted... i'll psyche it out eventually..
  14. the mustang didnt go anywhere. it sat in the driveway while we were out, then when i came back i heard the noise. haven't driven it anywhere for three days.
  15. The mustang sat outside today - it was about 90 out. we went in her car to visit the folks, came back.. and the radiator in the mustang is making this gurgling.. burping noise.. There is one tiny coolant leak where the hose goes in to the thermostat housing. other than that no drips, no leaks.. coolant level is fine. Drove it to work a few days last week - no gurgling or burping. any thoughts?
  16. hmmmm...i think i'd say..FLOOR IT.. DONT LOOK BACK! Quick before the wife changes her mind!! i've done nothing but drive the car and start saving pennies and fixing little pieces so far.. i think after this season of cruising i'll park it and start tearing into the body..best purchase i've made so far.
  17. get a crutchfield catalog if you haven't. they should have enough shallow mount and spacers to get what you want and clean. i'm thinking of this for the back seat: Available for ‘64½ to ‘69 Mustang Add some bottom end and power to your system with our NEW custom bass speaker panel. This panel comes equipped with two Custom Autosound 8†subwoofers and the Boss 400 watt amp. Panel mounts to the back of the rear seat through the trunk. All cables & wires needed are included for quick and easy install! BSD-MS-65/9 $229.95 each pic looks pretty cool, can't get it to post though
  18. it's a great little carb - i run one on my 77 Jeep CJ. Excellent work.. persistence pays!
  19. that damn Foose... always one step ahead of me.. Well thanks for at least doing the research for me Pak; I appreciate that. cheers z
  20. Hey, here's my car - if the local photoshop professionls wouldnt mind here's what i'd like to see it with: gloss black paint, eliminator hood scoop, with some sort of satin black stripe up the hood and on the top also - satin black all the chrome trim curious what a 'stang would look like with the antichrome treatment
  21. http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/aKWyjXEvlVCtKGpb4ffLpQ?feat=directlink here's a link to an outside pic of the hood
  22. wow.. so i got 5 people interested in the hood..who knew? I'll start with the earliest contact and work back - thanks for lookin! also - i'm probably going to get rid of my deluxe door panels - they've got some cracks and missing some trim and accessories - but if anyone wanted a template to do custom work let me know.. Jayru you've got a message in regard to the shroud
  23. Got some extra stuff hangin around- parts located in Greensburg PA I travel to Marietta Ohio and Warren Ohio frequently I've got no real desire to keep this stuff around..make offers - i'm making these prices up on the fly too so... auto shifter bucket - deluxe handle - needs rebuilt has bezel, handle, black deluxe grip and light wiring $50 lt blue/gray headliner - never used that i can tell - it's in a plastic bag, very nicely folded - $40 Fan shroud - 20" i think - $20 four blade fan - i think it still has a motorcraft tag on it - has a few scratches from moving - $40 rear coupe window trim - looks used like maybe an ebay purchase - $40 I also have factory seats i dont plan on keeping that could be restitched. plain hood in really nice shape too if anyone is looking - i'm going to go with the eliminator style. let me know if you're interested - i can email pics too cheers z
  24. Great site! I'll have to send him this pic of a early mustang in a field with a tree growing in it that i have...sad sad sad
  25. i'd drive the taurus SHO. like i stole it from a junkie with an uzi... but... out of that list i'd probably only want to own a VW. I helped this hippie couple i lived with fix one up in college, after that i always thought that i'd love to buy one dirt cheap, get a JC whitney VW Bug catalog, and take like 3 weeks off of work and just clean it up and re sell it. they're like my old jeep CJ. so simple, so few parts... i think it would be fun to put a new car interior in it, nice tunes, gobs of chrome, then sell it and chuckle. I'm curious about the BMW.. i know people that bought those years of BMW dirt cheap just to beat around - seemed to last but i was never impressed with them.. i think the old 380 Mercedes 2 seaters are a sweet car from that vintage..
