1969 lower dash clips

Hi all,

 

Trying to piece together a complete dash for a 69 project and need some help identifying some of the clips. Above the glove box and to the right there are two white plastic clips about an inch apart. Can someone please let me know what these are used for and a possible source to replace them if needed? I am restoring the dash now and they are very brittle. This particular dash likely came out of a Cougar and was not certain if they are specific to that line of car as all the Mustang specific images I can find show these two square holes as empty.

My square holes are empty. Have been since I bought the car in 1989.

It must be a Cougar thing. There are no plastic inserts in my dash at that location.

Those are where a little glove box light mount on the Cougars

Typically empty on a mustang but I have seen a couple mustangs that had the inserts and you could tell they had never had screws in them

I checked my 69 Coupe & the dash has no plastic clips there either.

Yep, same goes for me. Pulled out my dash today and there weren't any clips at all (1969 Mustang Mach 1). See pic below.
